I had the windshield replaced in my t660 a few weeks ago, pre pass was at the bottom but the shop moved it to the top. Location didn't matter for me. I get the green 14/15 scales. Maybe it's a Volvo thing? I'm not sure.
The start of my first year with Swift.

Now that you have been solo for a couple of months now what is your average for miles? Are you a hard runner or sit by the roadside person?
-
koncrete cowboy, Bigdubber and 123456 Thank this.

Thanks I will be going to Phoenix April 1st to begin my training. I'm trying to figure out approximately how many miles I will be looking forward to getting. I've heard that Swift uses electronic logs so a driver will never get more than 2,000 miles a week. So are you saying that if I got to a terminal and they ask me to do a local run then it would be wise for me to do it otherwise life will be hard without any miles?
-
It is almost always a good idea to do "favor" runs for a terminal as they come to depend on you when your truck numbers comes around again and when I was a DM I never forgot who did me a favor and always tried to make right by that driver asap and as often as possible. The old "you helped me out, lets see how I can help you out" I would also try to make sure your loaded miles ratio was as high as possible instead of sending ya dead head to get a load further away and was more inclined to give the drivers who I knew WORKED for their money loads ahead of the sit and gripe drivers.
kerosene jockey and Bigdubber Thank this. -
Bigdubber Thanks this.

I missed something. Loaded/unloaded is there a pay difference or something, why track it.

The more favors you can do the better! Especially at these mega-carriers. Favors will make you stand out more from the thousands of other drivers. When your dispatcher has 200 drivers under them when they suddenly have a really good load chances are you will be sticking out in their minds. Besides that, you are making money doing those favors! May not be a lot but its something. That's what you are out there to do right? Work as much as you can while you are out there and make as much money as you can that way when it comes to take time off you can afford to do so and even take an extra day or so.
Bigdubber Thanks this. -
So I made it to Tacoma without incident. Oregon didn't haul me in because of the scale I missed in January, and the roads were great. Not much else to report. Just going at this one day at a time.
Bigdubber Thanks this.
