Sheriff1/6 For what it's worth, I so much appreciate the time you have taken all these weeks to "share" your experience, the good, the bad, the ugly. It has taken me a couple days of reading but I have read each page in your "adventure" and can't find the words to adequately express my thanks.
I had, for reasons I can't explain, wrote out "a chapter" in this reply but realized this is not the place to do such (not wanting to hyjack your thread) so to put it as short as possible, THANKS for "sharing". Your experience (as well as others here on TTR that have shared) helps in so many ways people like myself that are considering getting into (back into) OTR. At least we can now make an INFORMED decision (which ever way it may play out).
I KNOW I will be getting back into OTR soon, just not certain as to which "bottom feeder" (as the term goes so freely) to go with. Posts such as yours helps in making a choice.
I hope you will continue to find the time, and desire to keep "us" informed of your journey.
God bless you and yours always.Sheriff1/6, Ubu, UncleMeano and 2 others Thank this. -
Colonel Jessep ordered the "code red" yet Dawson and Downey are reprimanded for following orders. Sheesh.. -
Sheriff,
They say Chicken Crap happens for a reason. A few years from now having to stay at Swift may be the best thing that could have happened. -

So I was deadheaded to Sumner to complete my paperwork. The first thing that happened was the guy at the window gave me heck for not sending in the right macro's. I was told by the onroad contact that not to worry about it, he had taken care of it. Next I get pulled in to see the safety guy. He gets on my for not sending the right macro and for calling onroad. Never call onroad, always send a macro. Not at all what my DL told me. Next he gets on me because of the crash. As I told him several times, I wasn't trying to get out of it, I did it, now what do I need to do to complete my end. He just kept it up, over and over. After he got done called claims and got the claim number. I guess onroad did take care of it because claims had all the information. Once that was done I had to call Lewiston again and have them send me more crash paperwork. I filled that in and faxed it back. I called Lewiston again and my DL said there will be more faxing in the next week or so for when they document the beating they are going to give me. It was then that told them I didn't have this much paperwork when I shot someone. On top of everything else there are no loads in the west. Over 1000 loads short for the weekend. This means I'm sitting all weekend her in Sumner...what a joyful Friday this has been.
This has been a day for some Frank Zappa!Bigdubber and MikeCammer Thank this. -
I see, I do the same.
Sorry to hear about your preventable, doesn't sound like fun. -
1000 loads short out west? Where did you hear this?
i hope it's not true! I just came off hometime and picked up a truck in Phoenix this morning. still waiting on a load. I don't wanna sit all weekend! -
