The start of my first year with Swift.

Seems as tho SWIFT has sold Some Qualcomm messages to an outside party. I've gotten 2 messages this week advertising for a "CDL Defender" program offering legal advice, for a fee of course.

wonder how much they make on that...

 

Do you have a refrigerator in your truck? I found keeping a few wash clothes in the cooler and then placing them under the pillow case helped keep my head cool and Id sleep better.

 

If its hot and I need to sleep, I idle. Plain and simple. They send messages during the summer saying its acceptable to idle to stay cool while sleeping.

I wish you all the luck as I have followed your thread from the beginning! I was at one time thinking about going to Swift. This thread is a Swift killer. Better luck to you Sheriff! It has got to get better.

 

I think the target for idleing is 20% or less. I could be wrong. Your DM should go over it with you on your monthly reviews. He is calling you for monthly reviews, right?

they go over things like load acceptance and idle, out of route and mileage. Safety concerns, logs etc. break it up into percentages to let you know what they need you to work on to put more money in their pocket. Stuff like that.

maybe it's not every month they do it, possibly it's every quarter. I've had 5 or 6 "monthly reviews" as my DM puts it.

 

Comallard, you must take into account that Sheriff started at the worst possible time of the year for freight. Everyone slows down in the winter, not just SWIFT. May want to take that into consideration.

Personally, I tell it like it is regarding SWIFT. They have some good and some bad. In my case, I see more bad than good, but I try to make the best of it.

After reading this thread, what is your impression of Swift? I know you have been involved from the beginning, so you would know Sheriif's deal and be able to give a good impression on Swift vs. Sheriff. Right now it seams like a prize fight and swift put the smack down on Sheriff at the end of the first round.
