LOAD and UNLOADING > My ? is:

  1. Loading and Unloading of your Trucks , is 100 % of how your days and nites begin,right?

    I am reading lots of posts and I feel that when the Loaders and Unloaders are behind schedule than it all goes down hill from there, correct?

    If that is the case then How can I help?

    I am sure the Legal System/Newspaper articles , letters to Companies, Boycotting business's <me for instance buying from a local grocery market and a Big One at that > can be of GOOD USE.

    Business's can be held ACCOUNTABLE with Fines added to there Bills of Lading and 3 counts your out. Is there such a practice with Business's out there for this occurance?

    I would think that the CEO's of this BIG ENTERPRISE of the US would get tired of needless monies spent for Employee's lack of Good buisness skills.
    Unfortunately Business's (some) don't appreciate the employee and a person quits caring. No Thankyou's or bonuses, benefits,ect.....

    I hear a lot from too many Drivers that People who are there to unload and load are down right rude!

    This gets my dandur up!

    It is an "industry standard" to unload you when they get good and ready. IMHO lumpers are a "brother-in-law" deal....bad attitudes are abundant in that industry. Never could figure why they are paid to unload/load s#!^ that they(that dock) wanted. To get "trucking companies" to agree to ANYTHING that makes it better for a driver is like trying to sue the gov't.
    Ain't gonna happen. I have worked for a company that told me the easiest way to make money with them was "detention"....and they paid it next check, every time.

    Detention means the driver gets paid because he/she arrived on time and the customer did not meet their obligation, however the pay they get does not make up for the miles they "could" of gotten.

    The driver can go to the sleeper somtimes (if the customer allows them to) so sometimes it may help them split break, but usually it does not due to the HOS changes.:biggrin_2558:

    Is there a certain amount the driver is paid (flat rate) or depending on the load and its value?
    Probably just a lump sum!
