I wanted to know what others are getting on average empty and loaded miles.
I dispatch a flatbed and our average empty and loaded is 2.25 per mile. (no tarp) (Interstate)
The van on the other side averages 1.90. Intrastate Only (Texas)
I think these are good numbers but would like to know what others are getting, and what you think of it?
We operate out of Austin Texas.
What is your average rate per mile? Van and Flat.

I use 2.60-80 a mile or sometimes more. I go home empty a lot to but at 10-12 MPG empty I don't worry about it.

only way i can hit 10 is WITHOUT the trailer. and i've driven a few trucks
FLATBED Thanks this. -
Depends on what you want me to pull. Very vague question.
-
I'm not a bad guy. I show up with a float, you want a step deck, It's office work. I will comply, but don't leave me in the dark.
-
yes very vague question. also is that "to the truck" rate or is it carrier rate and truck sees a percentage of it. is it heavy, light. fast to load/unload? need more info to give you a true answer

ok, weight can still make or break a rate. also expected load and unload times. area of the country, time of year. commodity. a ton of things go into a rate quote
you mentioned intra state, in texas. it would take a lot more research into Texas' particular market and the commodity you are hauling, in order to make a reasonable comparison. the more important thing is does that rate work for you. If it works for you, and you can make a good living on it, then it doesn't matter what the rest of us would need to run those loads.
