HAHAHA......I did, and they all told me their best driver makes $100k, I could easily make up to $70 thousand for as many weeks out on the road as I want for as many days off as I want with a GRRRRReat benefits plan and it's been a long time before any of their drivers has been shut down by DOT.

Would that be from the 99cent store or from Aston Martin??? LOL, so...what if am more specific: will my w-2 show at least $45k gross after 1 full year employment as a company driver with Crete from Jan to Jan w/ 5 yr prior experience if am out 45 days, home 5 - I idle less than 63 hrs per week, I always pu/del on time, usually work 12-14 hrs per day, dont have any citations, accidents or incidents to report, am single non-smoker healthy mid 40's prefer blu-cross, humana or united healthcare, legal plan, based out of a western state, 5% to retirement, prefer a non-automatic freightliner/internat'l governed at no less than 63mph, do thorough pre/post trips, call maintenace dept as often as questionable truck problems, and log exactly how they show me during class?

Yeah they might have meant $100k their best owner op

    mje Thanks this.
  8. Not sure where they would of come up with $100, 000 unless it was truck revenue for an O/O.
As a company driver I have made $65k to $68k per year for the last five years. I believe the average is $62k per year for a company driver. Our recruiters are usually fairly honest. I hope that has not changed.

  9. Your truck would be governed at 62 mph. It would be a manual 10 speed International Prostar or Freightliner Cascadia. You can figure 10k miles per month, 110k miles per year times your mileage rate, plus detention pay, unloading pay, and stop pay ($30 per stop) on the Nstional fleet.
Hope I was helpful in answering at least a few of your questions.

    mje Thanks this.
  10. 1. Should be at least 45k, avg is 62K.
    2. Crete will try to keep you out 3 weeks
    3. You earn 1 day of hometime for 6 days out. So out 18 days 3 days off, out 24 days 4 days off.
    4. They match the first 5% at x %, I don't recall how much.
    5. Health insurance is blue cross with dental and vision, reasonably priced, don't recall.
    6. Not sure what your asking but Crete has a good DOT rating.

    mje Thanks this.

I started at Crete in 1994. Get mt and call in ( no qcomm) and u might get offered as many as 12 different loads. Choose the one u want, as long as u could log it legal. Average length of haul was about 1200 miles. Had freight going all different directions. They sent me home for Christmas that year. Dispatcher asks,"when do u wanna come back to work?" I said," I don't know.". He says,"how about january 2nd. " There was a good old days in trucking. For me it was the 1990's. More freedom and flexibility on the HOS rules too. Wanna stop for a 2 hour lunch. Go ahead. And when u hit the road u still had the same hours left to work. Breaks didn't count against your hours like they do against your 14 now.If u wanna work for the Crete I am describing , you're gonna have to find a time machine because this Crete disappeared many years ago. RIP.
