Needles is notorious for being a "Speed Trap City" - I get calls at my referral service from all over the country from people who got speeding tickets in Needles. I recommend Felicia Woods-Yates. We send all these calls to her. 760-326-5297. She's a good lady.

Yea, I'd figured it'd be about $1000.
As I said before, they got my attention.
I'm done speeding in California. -
Thanks for the tip.
Hopefully, she'll be able to help me. -

You can always start off fighting your ticket by writing a statement to the clerk's office. I had a former student accidentally blow the Dunsmuir chicken coop and he got a citation. He wrote the county a letter stating that it was not safe for him to enter the weigh station at that time and he never put the motoring public around him in danger. Got it dismissed.
When I got my ticket in California the attorney pushed back my court date by almost 6 months. At the Oakland courthouse they require you to be present during a trial but my attorney did all the work and it cost me about $500 for my ticket to be totally dismissed. -
Hey Nomad. I agree with those other guys about getting an attorney. You outta be able to get that reduced to 69 or something. Had a friend gotta ticket for turning left from right lane ( didn't realize he had to turn left ) . Lawyer got $500 and the ticket got beat. Do whatever you gotta do to fix it. Last time I was out there on I-40 I was rolling down a small grade. Looked down and I was doing like 73 mph. It can happen. Speed limit is too low out there. I have paid a few tickets in my time. Good luck getting it reduced.

I found an attorney. She works out of and probably lives in Needles. She's familiar with all the judges and she knows the officer who stopped me.
I'm hopeful she can broker me a deal. I'll pay whatever fine they want. All I care about it keeping it off of my MVD.
I'd even go for a contingent settlement.
That way the ticket goes away but if I get caught doing it again within 5 years it comes back with full force & penalty.
I don't know whether they do such a thing in traffic court but it's pretty common for "first time offenders" in criminal cases. -
The ticket should be about 1000-1500 depends on how fast you were going
