If it ain't broke don't fix it. I prefer the old school I like my toggle switches rockers are to hard to flip at night.

More or less to sticks to the topic: how popular over there it is to drive wearing only socks and leaving your shoes outside ? (I know you can`t leave the shoes actually outside like in the euro-trucks because of the short doors). Some guys here even in log trucks and dump-trucks drive in white socks, let alone "regular" trucking, long haul or local where most of the guys drive like that.

Aww man don't tell me you wear white socks! Lol only jokin

sometimes I drive a western star, you wouldn't drive that in socks, the old style farm tractor clutch pedal Would rip into the soles of your feet. Peterbilt has a small clutch pedal which comes straight out of the floor on a rod, that would be uncomfortable in your socks too, you need to understand that trucks here haven't really evolved in the last 25-30 years , while euro manufacturers are focused on driving comfort and ease of operation trucks here are more rough and ready, as regards comfort you just can't compare them. Cabs here are still mounted on 2 point suspension making a rough ride, seats are big and soft creating pressure points meaning my rear end goes numb on long drives, cabs are functional but very basic, wind up windows are still common, a massive floppy gear shift is still planted right in the middle of the floor, the indicators don't self cancel, mirrors are flat glass so rear vision is very limited, lots of immatation leather , climate control is unheard of, no aircon when the engine is shut off, night heaters are not common and my pet hate; the doors don't seal properly meaning lots of wind noise and in some cases water gets in, drives me nuts! And forget about double glazed windows! That said some of the big aero cabs like Volvo have amazing room to live, I know euroland had an even bigger cab with the Scania exc but the shortsightedness of euro politicians meant it was fazed out but that's the beauty here, you can literally order any size cab you want, most cabs here aren't that big big but a lot of long distance guys would have them, the other thing I love about here is no tachos and 110 kph speed limit

I do actually have black today :)
Shoes has never been inside the cab other than the safety shoes stored on the passenger side. Tried to drive with them on one time this winter but just can't anymore. Feels to weird.

Someone with the same thought on seats as me. As you know French cars usually have very soft seats and I just hate them. After just a short ride my back starts to hurt. I do use the air damper in the truck but it's set on the hardest possible setting, going up and down on the seat is not to my like either.

How is the clutch compared to say some old 70s MF tractor (had to stand on the clutch pedal when I was 6-7 to get it down) . Driven that bear foot some time earlier doing farm work. It hurt a bit the first day but you grove more skin quite fast :)

:biggrin_25525: ... It is my way of showing respect to the industry I am hauling for. You would prefer your foodstuffs to be delivered by people who keep themselves and their equipment clean, wouldn`t you ? And white socks are the cherry on the pie :)

Okay when I am in a bad mood they can be black too ... keep up the good thread with more photos.

I will do my part, these photos are taken at this year`s Stockholm Truck meet (2013). This is my all-time favorite interior. Everything in Indian theme and the attention to detail was just amazing. Starting from custom leather to arrows and axes. And the fragrance .. mmm ... a picture can`t give you this.
The truck belongs to T. Gahne and looks very good from the outside too.
