My qualcomm's navigo does, but it freezes enough that I'd like a backup -- especially one with the ability to enter waypoints.

Does the TND700 have an option for hazmat specific routing?

I just bought a TomTom Pro Truck 7150 and it's got HAZMAT specific routing. I can't tell you anything about it though since I just opened the box last night and am fixing to set out Monday with it for the first time. But I've been using a car TomTom GPS for a while now, and it's been a great unit for me. You may just want to check it out. I bought it based on my experience with the TT One XL and because all I've been reading and hearing from GPS users for the last year is "The Cobra is crap, that's why I bought xx", "The Rand McNally is crap, that's why I bought the xx", and "The Garmin is crap, that's why I bought the xx". Nobody has bad mouthed the TomTom, although I don't think anybody knows about it, let alone owns one. :biggrin_25519:

I doubt you will find a Hazmat specific GPS. You might check one of the truck routing specific GPS's and they might have an upgrade on their website. For the most part hazmat routing redirects you away from tunnels and metropolitan areas if they have a bypass.

You can find hazmat routing here and correct the GPS via waypoints if neccessary.

That's because nobody wants to own a blue light special! :biggrin_2559:

Basically all GPS work with Navteq software and do modifications as they seem fit. TomTom is an independent and has been known as the cheapy brand kind of like Coby is to electronics today.

But they ain't that bad. :biggrin_25525:

Thought I'd just add this information. About the "blue light special". LOL.

All of the truck-specific units have HazMat settings to varying degrees of effectiveness. (Garmin, TomTom, Magellan, PC Miler, Rand McNally, Cobra, WorldNav)

All of them allow for route alteration via "waypoints" or "vias" to varying degrees of effectiveness.
