this is my 2 cents-in a trainer/team situation you quit at your terminal(after completing your dispatch) jumping out in the middle of the game should be avoided unless you absolutely have to(i.e. family emergency).if i sent you and another driver out as a team/trainer situation and you decided to quit on me 3 days out on a 7 day dispatch then i could rightfully say you abandoned the truck as now i would have to solo dispatch that truck to get it back, which may force the remaining driver to run out of hours before he could get back. or he would have to take a restart somewhere along the way, messing up his HOME TIME! too many drivers only think of themselves when they do this-then whine when they get a black mark on their DAC. what did you expect that company to do,fly another driver out to take your place???
is this considered abondenment

the trainer is a friend of the family , he also had a new student the same day ,he just jumped off another stevens Truck. That student had been sitting two days in ohio at a t/s , so i think the trainer was alone 6 hours.
but justifing my actions are not due . I can see where you see it as whining , but you have to agree if the CDL training program told us what they thought would " hook" the student in to signing the contract, instead of all points of trucking , if they had told the student indetail about a Dac along with the countless other fogoten details, and what could hurt you , well I woudn't be graced with your reply .
I am sorry if a student left you hanging it wasn't me , and maybe if you had been my instructor you could have told me the whole lot more to better myself and carrer , Because Stevens Sure didn't .....
Thanks for your Input ,and i appreciate the encourging words .

How long does a company have to file with dac against someone or former employe? does it matter if you are still working for them or not when they add to your dac ? any info about the DAC filing would really help me
-
a company can report anything at any time to DAC. that is the problem with this "database collecting". usually you have to wait and see if a previous employer posts anything bad about you.unless you really got your previous employer upset with you,i would not worry too much.just keep names and dates of all the people involved so you can prove your points should that be needed.
-
thats really wild that they can wait say 4-5 months after you don't work for them to write something like that on your dac , they should have a 30-60 day limit from date or terminatiion or last paycheck to do something like that .
it seems like they set you up ..... for example
if you quit , and say 50 days later you get hired some where and that say dac is clean, just need to check with former employer and verify your you dates or what not. then the former employer( after getting phone call from prospectivejob) can than write something that will show up after you are working for them for two weeks or so , your new empoyer they now say we found somthing that just came up ....blah blah blah , go home . -
that has happened, you can probably find a post on this forum that this has happened more than once.although if you are doing good with the "new" company, they would most likely not take action against you. now if you claimed to have no tickets/accidents when you hired on or claimed to be drug-free,and something popped up that proved you lied on your application-well then expect termination. that's why it's always best to honest with your recruiter and human resources people,so they know what to expect to see,,,if it does not show up,then they do not worry about it. you would be surprised how far honesty is more important in the eyes of an employer, that would be my main concern about hiring someone!

If you are still working for them does the "DAC" shouldn't say anything about you within that company.
What you need to do is make sure you are making a clear and clean record for you future.
Again I feel there is more to the story and telling the whole truth would help us help you. We understand mistakes here and we are willing to tell you the outcome of them truths.. I hope you get the next job due to your mess up at your current one. I just hope you are using your senses
. I have faith in you

. If the DAC doesn't come through (which most companies use that, not all) then if we have to do a written you may get lucky and run 30 days before we get a response and once we get a response and find negative reports then it could lead to false application or disqualification on application (not a techinical legal wording/not sure).
If you lie on your application its always able to haunt you and legally the company has any reason to terminate you once they realize you have falsed your application. This is why many here will stress to all drivers to make sure you tell the truth of "what happened" that way they know your side and the "companies" side. Sometimes it just doesn't matter, it's the facts of what happened.
I hope I am not coming acrossed as mean, I am trying to tell you the inside impression of the outsider, does that make sense?
