what is the Superior Carriers pay scal like?

    That's what you get with mileage and hourly pay.

    Its not that bad. My worst quarter the last 3 years was 13K gross. Best was 17K. Every terminal is a little different though.

    Do all company drivers make the same amount of pay per mile, whether they are new to the company or if they've been at Superior for many years?

    If so, this is very unique among carriers, isn't it?

    Yes they do. I liked it when I first started. Not as much 5 years in. One thing it does is guarantee that the big miles don't go to the new drivers to max revenue. You can read on here about drivers at other companies who saw the miles drop as the rate per mile rose but the .28 drivers got all they could handle.

    Smart thinking on the company's part, in part to help assure tranquility within the ranks, sounds like. As you referred to, its a benefit for new and veteran drivers alike, for different reasons obviously. I can see how its a little tough on veterans such as yourself, though having no suspicion or angst about whether or how much your miles are dropping or not probably helps ya all sleep well at night.

    Dang! I get .5585 cpm loaded and empty. I could run over 3,000 miles a week if I wanted. Maybe, I should call and see if they will pay me .28 cpm and run me twice as much.

    Well good for you. You obviously paid you dues to some LTL company. That isn't always best for someone just starting out. Extra board for years, layoffs, overnight schedules, after that all the while waiting for the guy above you on the board to retire, get fired or wreck so you can move up. Once you get to the top you constantly look over your shoulder at the guys below you who would cut your throat in a second to move up to a daytime run. Good for you. Glad you made it.

    For new people starting out Superior will pay you in the 60K range per year with 100 or so days off running an average of 2200 miles per week. I don't know where your .28 CPM number came from. This isn't Swift.

    Does Superior hire teams? My wife and I are headed to TDI in Milton, FL and are exploring options. I see they have a terminal north of Mobile, AL.
