Yeah, I'm here and alive...I just got home yesterday, decided to take a two week run so that's why I haven't been on here much these past few weeks.
-
Been reading this thread, thinking about joining the team...

Hey all. Back on the road after a week off. Family medical leave for kidney stones. Spent a couple days touring NC. Then ran New Bern to Indy. Now headed Indy to Lexington then home from there. Well have around 2300 miles for the week. I have stayed pretty busy this week.

bigmike do you do pretty much drop and hook or what are your runs like?
-
I got home early this week. Started the week off running a honda load to irving then a ltl to HAR svc then picking up a load in laredo heading to walton ky. I split that for someone else to have and im going to enjoy my long weekend!
-
I'd say 50% drop and hook.

It's time to put this thread to bed gang. I have my notice today and Friday will be my last day with Averitt. I have been offered a job doing sales at a local Kia dealership. My family is excited about me being home and I am excited about a new challenge. Averitt says I am welcome back any time and my FM was excited four me but said she hated to lose me. It's been a fun but sleeping in a truck is getting old. So am I. Time to teach this old dog a new trick out two wise. I'll check in from time to time so sometime needs to start a new thread or carry the torch on this one.

BigMike, I have really enjoyed your journey. You have inspired me. I am 31 (turning 32 in July) and about to start training at a local school on July 22. I am nervous about OTR and have been looking for local and LTL work. Thank you for making me feel at ease about trucking. Best of luck to you, I never could stomach sales which is why I always hated my jobs. I am a people person but sales especially commission only sales would give me an ulcer. Good luck and God Bless!
bigmikectn Thanks this. -

bigmikectn Thanks this.
