Ahhh, M for motorcycle. Didn't think of that but, it makes sense now. Restrictions, if any, would be listed separately from endorsements.

Here in Texasthey put the motorcycle denotation next to the class of license you have. If you have a class A it will say class:AM rather than having a m under endorsements.

short answer is yes having "X" endorsement will let you pull has-mat in a tanker, van, flatbed..... but also some has-mat in van/flatbed REQUIER IT... fmcsa changed the definition of a tanker.... so ANY TANK over 110 gl. now requires a tanker endorsement

those plastic tanks (over 110 gl.) you see in van's and on flatbeds now require a tanker endorsement if they don't have has-mat in them and X if they do....!!

Yep ... M is for motorcycle ... X is hazmat and tanker.

Used to make my living on a motorcycle long before driving a truck.

Been pulling a gasoline tanker since 2/1987 which was before CDLs were even a glimmer in DOT's eyes

in utah. it used to be class AM.

they've moved the M to XT apparently since i renewed my license last year.

and didn't they change the tanker code? cuz i left off my haz when they started doing the TSA thing. and i don't recall my tanker being a N. seemed like it was some other letter to go wth my T.

wonder when they're going to make it so test and background are on the same date. cuz i did my test last year. nothing was said about the background. but i'm thinking i might have to do that next year. when my 5 years are up.

Thanks, everyone, for the information. I had a feeling that the X would replace H and T. Just to be safe I'll check with my BMV office here in Indy.
