After running empty from Columbus OH to CT (where I hear from most of the truckers that they will never go again) after trying to book a load for two weeks and not able to get close to market approx $3/mile. I talked to Access America, US Logistics, Landstar, BNSF and many others they all pretty much offered close to $1200 for approx 650 miles. Including Freight Quote, TQL and all. Many of my colleagues blamed it on my Russian Euro accent. So I hooked up with a dispatch service at the cost of 8%. At first he told me all the good things about the service and then he says the name of the big company and their expertise will make the average rate come up, but after doing couple of trips on the toll roads to Indianapolis IN and KS to NY, I showed him the average rate being way below the national average ($1.77/mile), he says what is this, I don't need that info what you make. So is this guy now working along side with the terrorism behind the seen, or every one is not making any money????

He runs a dry van, and it's always someone else's fault he can't get loaded,

He pulls out ridiculous numbers, then blames it on a terrorist plot to get just him, and then wonders why he isn't making any money.

Going empty from OH, to CT is insane when you could have easily picked up $2.00 a mile freight,

Everyone is worth helping out, but this guy, should probably just sell his truck, do a search of his posts, it's amusing.

There has been a lot of talk about building relationship and that is the only way to get the average rate in the trucking industry. I have been dealing with freight quote, TQL, Landstar and many others (its has been always a expedited run with appointment and way below the market and most of the time below my cost of operation, but the load has always been delivered professionally and courteously even when they held my truck for 4-6 hours loading/unloading) and almost always found that the phone answerer has no clue about the load and the market, always put on hold first for about 7-10min and then the rate really ridiculous as if the US market has crashed to ever low. For instance I have done tons of loads for Freight Quote and I picked up load for them from Dayton NJ to Cleveland OH for $650 for approx 500miles. It happened to be two picks at the same warehouse. I asked for a bit more for that reason and the 3 hours pickup. They will not budge and said they were loosing money on it. (DAT reported .94 loads to one truck with 16000 total for Pick up area and 2.68 loads to one truck to the delivery area with 36000 total, if DAT and all other reporting Databases are fraudulent please stop the Gov and all the industry from using them). In OH I got a call from TQL that I should pickup the load for them for $1100 for approx 550miles run otherwise I will be sitting there for a while. After sitting there I moved to Columbus OH where the same thing again. Freight Quote offered a load to go back with some kind of attitude as if this the only load in the area for a little less than $2/mile. I understand from this site and other opinions that all trucks are lowlifes, but after calculating fuel and tolls it did not make me any profit, so I refused it. Access America offered a full load of bear to Newark NJ for $1200 with take it or leave it attitude again. One again I understand from this site and other opinions that all truckers are low-lifers but I could not make any money if I had accepted the manipulation, so I refused it again and other similar offers. At the end of the second week I received a call from Access America offered me a load for $1600, but when I called back the message said that this phone is not in service (I had been communicating on this phone number all two weeks) Tried to book load from Youngstown OH on Saturday same story again so I went empty from Columbus OH.

It is for FYI to the other truckers only. Like I said earlier about the guy who said, that they went after the Christians and I did not do anything because I was not a Christian and then they went after the Jews and I did not do any thing because I was not a Jew. Then they went after the Muslims and I did not do any thing because I was not a Muslim. Then they went after me and I did not do any thing and I ran for help, but there was no one left to help. Here is the lesson to be learnt. After taking time away from home and working hard and working against your health, every one still has to suck up to the brokers to make your ends meet then there is a huge problem in our system and society. There is no unity in the truckers and there is no real site which is in the favor of truckers. OOIDA is a joke. I have beaten out of thousands dollars by the big guys like Allen Lund ($3000) and did not get paid almost always over two hours of load/unload even with appointment but no detention ( I would estimate in thousands, TQL Landstar Freight Quote many others)
