Being able to do it and being willing to accept the risk in doing it are 2 separate issues. I don't know when you got out of bed that day but if it was say 8:00 then you were up for 21 hours before taking that 2 hour nap over the steering wheel and slept 2 hours in 27 hours before reaching the shipper. Any accident preventable or not will hang you out to dry in a court room. You risk losing everything.

Believe me when I tell you, this won't happen again. I know my limitations and I was almost at the end when I got to the shipper. Driving all night gave me a chance to think about everything you have mentioned. On paper I was legal, in reality if something did happen, being legal would have been the last thing to worry about.

JB, you were at the yard yesterday? I had to flip my sleep schedule. Left there yesterday at 4, went to Amazon and left there at 6. Just got up here to Northborough, MA. Again went by the house and waved. One of thesedays i'll get home. Welp time for some shut eye.

That must have been a great paying load to DH that many miles to shipper. This may be like talking to the wind but worth a shot.Ask your dispatcher to start finding you a load while on hometime so you don't have to sit around and wait.

I'm home, got here about 2pm. My wife picked me up and we drove to my delivery so I could see where I needed to turn to be lined up right. This is going to be very comical in the morning, the Walmart Grocery store is still under construction, there's no loading dock available yet and it looks to me they need these coolers tomorrow like I need a hole in my head. We shall see.
I got my truck serviced yesterday, they rotated my drive tires and put new brakes on both drive axles, all this was done between 7 and 4. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. At the other company I would have spent 2 days in a motel or given a loaner truck.Last edited: Jun 30, 2013

Was thinking the same thing about the shop. Trying to decide if I want to come in a day early to get my brakes looked at. I had a 44500 load from wytheville to indy and it #### near pushed me down the mountains. I have never had to manually shift to slow myself down in this truck before, no matter how heavy. My brake pads look good, just scratching my head on it right now. Maybe an adjustment? Thank goodness the section that happened on was pretty straight. Needless to say, I went a lot slower after that!
