I am HAPPY that you like being here and again I am most happy your daddy taught you right! Yeah kids can be a "pain" with all those questions but that's how they learn, as much as us parents want to scream (I know I do!) with why this and why that and how this and how that
They learn from us and if we have the patience or at least attempt teaching them they really appreciate it later on, I hope![]()
Do you run illegal on your logs?

I watched everything, learned all I could about the big rigs. Never wanted to come home. I even got to help unload the trailer on a few stops...I loved it.
Now asking all the regular growing up questions of why & how, ha ha, yea, my parents wanted to scream here & there.
I can say I definately appreciate my parents teaching me what they could -
Jeez, After reading that whole thread, I'm sure glad I do the local thing. We still have to run a log. We do go out of town on occasion.
When I was a Flight Crew Scheduler for TWA years ago, we could schedule a Pilot up to 12.5 hours on duty and if he went non routine, we could reschedule him up to 15 hours on duty. And he, at his discretion, could exceed that if it meant completing a flight. So, even airline pilots had some leaway in duty hours, something truckers don't have. -

I run a 300 mile radius of base. I haul cars, which is time consuming to the log book...I wont run after midnight and dont run before 7am, so I get my 6-8hrs of sleep every night.
I do tend to run harder on the last day of the week so I can get home, but never to the point of fatigue.

Well you can do what you want to..But if I was an hour or 2 from home, and I knew I could be home and off duty this evening instead of in the AM after a 10 hour break.. Im cheating
Sorry, its me..I would.. But as for getting to customers, and the normal day to day routine.. No...Only to go home..
