Just because there is a billboard on 85 saying that doesn't mean everyone is paying that much.
Currently making $110,000 in TX oilfied, can I make $200,000 North Dakota?

I lived in new town ND.......for six months....and let me tell ya it's no fun living in North Dakota.
I paid $500 for a spot in a bunk bed in a room with four other guys.
Stay in Texas ! Trust mechaz7r Thanks this. -
Hubby has hauled water in ND since 2009 and made nearly 110K last year. If you come here, be smart. Instead of paying for over priced housing or being under an employers thumb with company housing, we bought our own home. Yes, it's over priced and not nearly the well built home we owned elsewhere but we rent out 2 of the bedrooms to some very nice guys who pay us $950 a month for each room. Essentially, our mortgage, taxes, utilities and cable are paid for by them. The winters are tough even for seasoned drivers. We look forward to our winter get aways to our FL condo (thanks to the ND oil boom) when hubby has his week off.
The oil field jobs of ND will be plentiful for decades to come. They are nearing 9,000 wells in the Bakken and the projected maximum number is 40-45 thousand. Life expectancy of a well is about 30 years.
This place is ripe for the pick'in and it's a great place to separate the men from the boys!
