Been busy. Lol. Dropped in Portland Friday AM and got a preplan for a nursery load to 4 different places in Colorado. Mind you, I haven't done a 34 hour yet. From WA to OK to AR to PA to IL to UT to OR and now in Colorado. The planners know how to maximize your hours which makes you more productive to make you and the company more money. Its almost like they have it down to a science. I've done all this with a 62 mph truck, e-logs and the new HOS. If you're willing to work, they notice and work with you to maximize productivity, which, makes a happy me. Any trouble I had at the beginning worked itself out and I'm running like I'm used to. Having a comfortable truck to drive helps the miles ease on. I came from Lessors where our trucks would run a bit faster, but they were bought as bare fleet trucks. They looked ok, but the seats, suspensions and the way they were geared beat the hell out of you. Not a Gordon truck. These were bought with driver comfort in mind.
I'm going to repeat myself when it comes to driver comfort and convienience at Gordon. It's almost like its paramount to the company. I can't get over the terminals and the amenities at them. I enjoy driving the truck even though its 62 mph. I've been driving for 12 years, I grew up in this industry as well. I've seen tons of companies. I've never seen anything like Gordon. There will be people who piss and moan. It's trucking and some guys aren't happy anywhere. They say your perfect company is the one who create. Well, there's no topless women to give me a massage while driving and no chipolte restaurants built in to the terminals, but Gordon is running pretty close to perfect. I'm sure there are going to be times I get angry, but the miles have been pretty consistent, and there are a lot of benefits to being a Gordon driver. When I first came here I thought it sucked and every moron drank the Kool Aid. Nope. Gotta give it time to get used to their system, and once you do it starts to come together.quetzalcoatl, JustDoc, Hitman and 3 others Thank this. -

Thats why (to any potential drivers, or to those considering a change of companies) it's always vital to do your research, including talking to actual company drivers in person. Just go to any truck stop (Pilot, TA, Loves, Petro, etc.). Ask them about company pay, benefits, and conditions along with how long that they have worked there. Speak to as many drivers as possible.

Maybe I missed it but what about the terminals makes them so good?
And I would settle for Chipolte at a few truckstops. -
Ok. This week, ending today (Saturday), was As follows
1. Portland, OR-Forest Grove,OR for 4 stops in Colorado; 1. Aurora, 2. Parker, 3. Lone Tree 4. Castle Rock
2. Castle Rock, Co- Greeley, CO- West Chicago, IL
3. West Chicago, IL- Forest View, IL- Olney,IL
4. Olney, IL- Robinson, IL to Palmyra, PA.
A little over 3200 miles, drop pay and whatever you get for assist on them. Still rolling strong. As for what ethos asked about the terminals, I came from Lessors where we had 1 shower between 3 terminals. One washer. One dryer. All in Minnesota. Gordon has many of each. Lol. -
