That is my take on it as well! I will get my start. I won't rest until I have work up there. And then I really won't rest haha.

Also check indeed website and use filter words like class 1, driver, or use cities such as red deer or ft Mac... I got my foot in the door on kijiji, then another job panned out, now through that company I am certified stiff boom 20 metric tonne and under and first year on the job grossed 6 figs. I applied to over 200 places though, relentless. And get your but out and follow up every one you send to and bring a box of resumes with you, tickets, abstract... Steel toes and be ready to start.

Sash and Prairie Boy Thank this.

Hey, just been laid off in Victoria and wondering if there's any advice on here as far as when and where to apply in the oil patch for class 1 work? 3 years experience driving the island and to and from Alberta.
    Thanks in advance.

Tons of info in the thread. Lots of places are hiring all over right now. I got hired on the spot when I took a trip to alberta and I'm still getting calls constantly from other companies I applied to.
