Jim, So glad you are having fun. I am sure it has to be quite the feeling, especially when it exceeds expectations by so much! Sounds like they are really beating you up good with that happy stick!
I will keep you, Matt, and others updated as things progress with me. I have been telling myself in order to remain SANE that no matter what happens, if other drivers get picked over me and I miss getting picked for this batch of new drivers, I will re-apply, even if it is to a DC further away. I know in my mind that passing the interview, pre-trip, and road test was not difficult for me and that I have an excellent background with many years safe driving. I do have what they want in a driver. No matter what happens now, I will be persistent. Matt, it took you from last fall until now, so you can relate to this. It will be worth the effort, even if it required a little more waiting. Not to say I will not be happier if hired now, I am just trying not to get overcome with excitement prematurely. It will be that much sweeter when the day comes that I have a confirmed orientation date!
By the way, Jim and/or Matt. Just curious, but when they sent you for your physical and drug screen, was it done at a clinic near the DC, or somewhere closer to your home? Matt, you are about the same distance from Sealy as me, so not a big deal if you had to travel to Sealy to do it, but Jim was about 270 miles away from his DC. Just wanting to know this in case I need to take a day off from work to complete, should I receive that 2nd call in the coming days. Thanks!Last edited: Jul 18, 2013

NYVET, I told ya man. LOL I didn't lie. Wait until you have your 6-month associate contact............... you will learn even more.
I'm glad you are so happy, I know I still am. Sometimes I still can't believe it.
Yeah, as I was sitting at the DC yesterday, eating a big ol Walmart Premium ribeye (it was a coordinators 10 year anniversary), cooked to perfection, I was thinking about those people who say they turned this down. Really?? I honestly think there is a lot more to the story than that. Saying you turned it down sounds a lot better than "my background check didn't come through clean," or any other of the many things that can happen.
Tom, I don't know how it is in TX, but I would imagine it would be similar to here. My drug test and physical was at a place pretty close to the DC. Of course, I am only 120 miles from the DC, so I am "relatively" close. -
Tom, it's done at 'their' clinic, which for me was about 2 miles from the DC. I drove there in my vehicle and got it done. But you're THERE anyway at that point because they send you there after the second 'interview' when they offer you the position. And if you had your first interview...you've ALREADY beat out many others. At least from what THEY told ME (cuz I asked), they take a lot of applications, maybe 200, select all that actually meet all the requirements, then further cut it down to the BEST of that bunch for the first interview. At this point, if you DON'T get called back, it'll be because something didn't come back good, maybe something as simple as a former employer never verified your employment with them or some guys forget to put down a ticket or thought something wasn't important enough to put on the application even when they had a second chance to do so. There's a guy in my class (of 4, was supposed to be 8!) who had a problem with the former employer verifying his info and had jo go through the WHOLE thing again, road test and all. But if all that is good, you WILL get the call. If you got interviewed, you're there conditional only on your background checks and then your physical and drug test.

Thanks guys! I will try to not let the time waiting to hear back mess will my mind. No surprises on my MVR, it is completely clean! I checked it myself before the interview. No surprises on my background check because although I know it is clean, I did a background check on myself as well. I know my current employer will verify my history. All in all, everything looks great. Justing waiting for the next call!
Thanks for the info about the physical/drug screen. I guess if I had to go back to Sealy for a 2nd interview, doing the physical/drug screen while there will be no big deal. I agree Matt, I like this being done in advance too!drozzer69 Thanks this. -
Why doesn't Walmart drivers answer the CB when you call on them?
Sent from my HTC ONE courtesy of Tapatalk. -
Most of them don't have it on. Too much b s. I don't have an assigned truck so I don't turn it on if there is one in there because its not mine.

I know how frustrating it is, I tried many many times to get a Walmart driver on the cb, never had any luck. Always thought maybe they were too stuck up. But now I know, many don't have assigned trucks, and there IS a lot of BS as well, like already stated. If you've followed this, and other related threads, you will notice much Walmart bashing taking place. So you can imagine what gets said on the radio. Nobody wants to hear it. That's my take. You'll find more info on here than you would on the cb anyway. And I can attest to the fact that the info provided here by real Walmart drivers is right on, you can take it to the bank!
Jrdude5 and Buzzard2157 Thank this.
