I sent in my 2 weeks notice this morning. My initial goal was to do 2 years here and assess the situation. I have been doing that for the last week and made my decision. Apparently feeling you want to just move on isn't a very common reason to leave. Roehl is great company to start out driving with and have been treated well here. I guess it is the direction the company is trying to go helped me make my decision. Whats next for me? I have been leaning toward giving Ozark a try. They got some issues on their SMS report but their Drivers seem to be happy. A big reason I was talking to them was no NYC, no Canada and I wouldn't take a pay cut.

Good luck, let us know how it works out. It's probably pretty common, but drivers feel they need to give a more substantial reason. I don't know why people feel the need to say more than, "I feel like it".

Turned the truck in Saturday and before I left they immediately assigned it to another driver. I spent an hour telling him all the truck secrets. It's a 2014 International with only 24k on it. This driver hit the truck lotto. He went from a problem soaked freightshaker to the nicest truck Roehl has ever bought. It had l/r driver's seat swivel with an electric massage feature as well as a dash board 5th wheel release. Lots more bells and whistles. If ROEHL keeps buying that truck from International drivers are going to be very happy. The downside is its 2k heavier than the F/liner, the sensor slams on the brakes for ghosts, no hand brake, less storage and any air leaks that drop the pressure below 55psi causes an alarm that will not shut off till you start the truck and build it back up (trailer had a slow air leak in the middle of the night interrupting sleep. Yes, a real pain). I could live with the negatives. I LOVED that truck!

I had my cataract surgery yesterday and am recouping today. I start my new job 7/29. One great adventure has ended and a greater one begins.

Hah, everyday I work. Though I don't partake every time because driving reefers is going to make me chubby enough without adding ice cream to the equation.

To all former ROEHL drivers; when you quit did you have an exit interview?

Apparently they aren't doing that anymore based on my own recent experience and that of two other drivers I know who left recently.

Im sure there are opinions on why they may have ended that practice.

    Thought please!

I pulled reefer for Roehl 4+ years and never got free ice cream. What customer offered that? What did I miss out on?

We didn't get one either...but the FM had known for almost a month before Chris gave him the "official" 2 weeks notice...plus they had a 2 day "talk" about if he was sure he wanted to leave.
