My goodness...you are attempting to get somewhere with Sunday night breakdown on the computer? Now I know you're desperate to get things fixed and rolling. I've felt your pain on a lot of that type of stuff while at Crete. Never fun! Good luck with it all.

is it legal to pull a trlr with no plate? regs are in the nose box. I've gotten a couple of " should be"s but that's as good as "should be as long as you don't get caught"...haha

more like desperate to sleep. I ended up finding, fixing and had the goop washed off my hands before they replied. The "mechanic" neglected to reconnnect both battery banks. The driver side was just sitting there, so with a flashlight and a monkey wrench I hooked it up. Perhaps he missed that day at his special school.

That's sad and funny at the same time. Nothing like some do-it-yourself repairs after the so called experts are supposed to be done with it. Sucks to have so many things needing repairs. Hope you can get it all back together and get running again. Good luck with all of it. Sure wish there was an easier better way out there for repairs. Hang in there! Got to get better soon! :)

as far as legal, not sure, but I've done it. Sometimes I put the tag number in big sharpie under "lost tag" if there is clean enough metal

I appreciate it. I think things will get better when I hear Poly's boss say those oh so sweet words "when can you start?"

Oh I bet. One of my friends that used to drive with Shaffer is flying down for his drug screen this week. He is really happy to hopefully be hearing those words as well. KC was his home terminal as it was for me. Sad to hear the shop staff has gone further down hill there. There was a time when I could count on getting some things done there. To many changes around there I guess. I never had problems with anyone at that facility. It was pretty good having it as my home terminal. No telling how it is now. Ok, back to driving. Got to get this big load down to Laredo. Burning up my hours for sure. GP to Henderson,NV. Then on out to Sumner,WA. and now Laredo. Full running every day. I Luv it. Makes me want to do the refugee dance! Lol

I finally got word from "Permits" dept. as long as the regs are in the nose box you are good to go but it doesn't mean they won't pull you over and once pulled over....well you know!

And on the "pulled over" portion of this thread. I am sitting at the Flying J in New Caney, TX after my truck lost all of it's "get up and go" Pulling an mt trlr was like a 45K load. Mash the throttle and next to nothing. I was coming from the Wally World DC and made it to US59 when all of the sudden there was no response and by the time I got from 1485 to the Fish hook it began to smoke slightly. Not the mesquito fogging bad smoke but I could tell it was there. Limped into the parking spot and sent a note to breakdown. It's been almost an hour and nothing back yet. Plus I had to cancel a nice 755 mile ASAP run. But it was gonna be water so I knew this thing wouldn't haul it:biggrin_2559: Not that I would dare even idle the thing until breakdown/mechanic says it's OK. Well my luck has turned to crap-o-la here lately. But that's how things go sometimes:biggrin_25511:

EDIT: Update, 2 hours with no response so I called in. 12 minutes of jazz then a lady answered. Asked my problem and after I told her what I had written she said."OK I will get this to a repair agent thank you" click:biggrin_25510: I'm glad I don't work in breakdown.:biggrin_25520:

EDIT 2: They're sending a tow from Dallas to New Caney (Houston) take me back to Wilmer. I must say I am pleasantly surprised by Ms. Tea. She called and has things set up for me to drive a company car to my house (about 20 to 25 miles) after I get back to Wilmer. Since it will be around 1AM when we get there a hotel doesn't make much sense. Plus she's sent word to Lincoln to get me into a loaner truck for a few days. Turns out I am still 1340 miles short of my 119K and my anniversary is the 28th of this month. Had I not lost that run today I would have been less than 600 miles. But like I said. She really surprised me with the amount of effort and concern she showed. On top of that this was at 18:30 this afternoon. Well after closing for the terminal.

I finally got out of the shop...I got all but my tires/alignment(tires aren't screwed up enough I guess) and the clutch pedal sensor. I got lucky and got an empty that a driver was just dropping, and got a decent mile load to the Hagerstown area out of the caves of Independence, MO. Now the problem...since the screen is badly smashed on my phone I can manage to do 2 things w/it...voice dial my wife via bluetooth and tether my laptop so I can post here or find customers via the old google earth...etc. I get to the cave complex's staging area where you're suppose to call the company that is loading you to get a dock assignment...The instructions were to call customer from the pay phone...which is gone and there is a directory of all the customers inside, but Crete said the customer's name was -the whole complex's name-(sorta like "you're going to Yahoo's industrial park to pick up" but there is 50 different customers in said park, and w/o knowing which to visit...makes calling on the imaginary phone impossible)...so the 3 ring circus continues. Over an hour of back and forth before I am almost ready to deadhead home again...and op's finally get the message, finds the customer (in the load info it said Church and Dwight who doesn't have a listing in this complex, but ended up picking up Pillsbury flour i.e. General Mills) find the customer wiggle my truck into the tightest possible door and get loaded...and wiggle my way out. While I was there, I noticed some of the main pillars holding up the caves roof had cracks as big as my fingers, and while I was walking back to close the doors, a small quarter size piece of the roof hit right in front of me. In my opinion, theycould close all cave complexes like that...if I wanted to work in a cave, I'd go be a coal miner or live in Afganistan.
