Does anybody know of you add another truck and new driver if they have to get an eobr. Even if I as the owner am not currently required to have one.

As far as I know, no. However I would call Jodi at Interlink as she will give the correct answer. PM me if you need her number.

Everything is gong to be different for each operation. If you think about the usual factors like time out, length of haul, equipment pulled the income spread as well as the general thoughts about pulling for LS will be different. You really need to have a set of numbers to work with and base your operation on your needs. You should know what your total cost per mile is to operate your business.

Fuel, equipment costs, maintenance, taxes and all the other costs of doing business need to be figured if you want a solid number. Anything above that is profit which is what you put in the bank each week. Keep your business seperate from your bills at home, those get paid out of your profit.

My cost to operate right now is running about .84 that includes all the above. I like to pull light <25k and I look for 2.25+ per mile,I have no problems getting loads that match my criteria. My lanes right now are AZ-VA-FL-GA-TX-AZ,I have been running that loop for a few weeks and its been okay.

Im pretty sure every new BCO is put on EOBR which is why you have to have a tractor capable of running an EOBR (electronic engine).

Adding another truck and driver onto your current contract is different than starting a whole new contract as a new BCO. However Jodi will know the correct answer. I am interested in this answer as well.

Is that 2500-3000 total for everything? You need to break your numbers down and seperate the business from the house. You may not have read my post above.

You should be able to run good miles under good loads if your out of OK. For my operation I like to figure 1k gross revenue for each day Im out and I try and stay out until I hit my goal of 25k for the month. Some times I get a week off sometimes its only a few resets on the road in a hotel and a day or two here and there at the house. It not ideal and I could probably do better but its only been six months and Im still trying different things. Real rough math puts the monthly gross revenue to my truck at 18k.
