Yes it's annoying that the times revert but it's very important to adjust your etas (and readjust them). As off about 2-3 weeks ago the Box Planners got a new program to help them get us mt trailers. Now instead of using 4-5 programs to find/assign an MT they only need 1. As your eta approaches you'll show up in the queue on their screen and they will assign an MT to you. The more accurate your eta, the better the box planner can do her job. The new system, in theory, should allow the Box Planner to see that the customer you're delivering into doesn't have/won't release MTs and they'll be able to send you someplace else BEFORE you even make delievery. They can also see if the trailer is TBO so we should no longer be sent into a customer to pick up an MT just to find it has no brakes.
The system is really slick and it's already significantly dropped the time spent waiting on the Box Planner. As the new trailer tracking devices come on line, the box planners get more comfortable with their tools, and drivers go through our tasks properly the MT box search should start going the way of the dodo, -
Why would I lie about there not being any MT trailers???? I WAS ON MY WAY HOME I just wanted to grab one and leave, but she wanted to argue. Like her computer is more accurate than the driver actually having eyes on a trailer, right? I finally just BT'ed out and drove to the OC. -
I just DO NOT UNDERSTAND how these box planners can be SO BAD at their job. First, I'm told to pick up an empty at the customer I'm delivering to, preassigned a trailer number and everything, so they think its there. Get there, of course no empties.
Send in the exception. Wait for an hour. Finally they update it.
Bobtail 25 miles to the location where the empty is supposed to be. Its closed. Not a soul around, trailers all locked behind the gate.
Send in the exception again. Wait 45 minutes. They update my workflow again.
Bobtail 30 miles to the next location. Get to the gate. Get told there are no empties.
I'm losing it at this point. Call in to weekend DBLs. Ask if I can just bobtail into the customer because I'm wasting half my day because someone else can't do their job. Get put on hold while she contacts CS, gets back to me saying that I can't bobtail in. Get told to wait some more.
Sit 30 minutes. Another Schneider driver pulls in with an empty, must have seen me waiting and flags me down asking if I want the trailer. I grab it.
30 minutes later driving down they road the box planner finally updates my workflow again, trying to send me to a 4th location for a trailer. Too bad I've already got a trailer. Ignore it and get on with my day. Had to message support shift tonight to get the task removed. -
Here I sit in front of Obetz shop which IS open waiting on wingfoot cuz the shop is leaving at 1230. Mind you shop is supposed to be open til 1 according to ALL reference materials drivers access. Only need a flat changed on this trailer.. My dedicated office called before I came over to see if they would do it. Impression we got was yes they would. Seems crazy to me that wingfoot needs to come when. the shop was open and coukd have done it

Anyone know what the pay is for western 11 VTL? Like short haul pay and what not. Where can I find this information? Anyways, I got a relay from Fontana full of coca cola going to Vegas, first place took 1 pallet and rest went to US Foods. Heres the kicker, I get there and they say my appt isn't until Friday. Mind you its Wednesday and I'm usually back home by friday. lol I'm like daing, I'm getting shafted here for miles. I don't mind waiting, it just sucks, so I move to the petro in N. las vegas cause they got a bunch of cool crap there and to explore....(Shelby Museum!) and watching the AF doing their thing over at Nellis. Next thing I know it, CS updated my crap for me to wait til Friday lol. 15 min later, I get another revision to tell me to drop and rhe relay the load at the petro, pick up an empty, and roll out to the my next pre assigment which is a friggn fun drive through a dirt road into the mountains! Gypsum plant thingy place called Blue Diamond.......pushed me at 78K and 800 over on the tandems. By the time I got to the TA the load settled and I weighed out

Anyone remember what type of drug test Schneider does once you get hired on. Was it a urine or hair test. I don't do drugs but I have a buddy who has a medical marijuana card and caught a few wiffs of smoke about 3 or 4 weeks ago. I'm not worried about a piss test but the hair has me concerned.
