Hot-Shot Load boards???

    Right now I'm just running my normal vehicle insurance, as I'm not hauling anything over 26k lbs, which would make it a Commercial load. Once I get momentum, I'll move up.

    Better read the law. It is interstate commerce and a very much lower weight.


    Little known fact.

    Your vehicle insurance will not cover you when you use it commercially. Same holds true for the pizza delivery guy.

    Either way, I'm not looking to move anything over 500 lbs right now, not until I can get a decent trailer.

    The rest of us can hardly compete with the high cost of commercial license plates, commercial insurance and federal regulations.

    Call it as you will. I know I'm not the only one out there that thinks many of these regs are "over-rated". You hear it daily in truck stops across the country. Outlaws have made their loads regardless, and that's what counts. That people are getting their furniture, their cars, their RV's, etc by any means possible. Hell, it won't be long of doing this that I'll get it all straight anyways. I don't have any financial backing, so I figure 1-2 loads will get me what I need to get a few things straight (such as commercial insurance), but I'm never getting a DOT or MC number! That's not required unless your hauling commercial weights of over 26,000 lbs. I've read that much.

    I do not haul over 26,000 lbs and I am required to have the numbers and insurance. But, you have read it. I hope you are caught.

    I have no financial backing either. I work hard for my money and then people like you show up.

    People like me? Wow... I love the labels people use to classify another human being. People like me. If your running LTL in a pickup truck, not grossing at over 26,000 lbs, then it's not classified under FMCSR Regulations for log books and HOS regulations, and therefor does not require DOT and MC numbers. That's what I've made out of the material I've read from other Hot Shot and LTL carriers. If I can even get a quote on Commercial Insurance on a 92 F350 I will.

    @MarineDriver1 ... as you say, call it what you will. You are operating ILLEGALLY... Period. No questions asked.

    So what are you going to do when someone's Great GrandMa's china gets broken in your truck because some one hit you? Not your fault, they hit you. You packed it all up securely for them. AND you took responsibility for it. YOUR insurance will be useless since you are operating outside of thepolicy. And the person who hit you insurance will be of no help because you are not legal. .... You have no money to replace that priceless freight...HHHuuumm.

    So do you have a clue what happens when you get caught?

    You had better read up.

    Definition of a Commercial Motor Vehicle per FMCSA rules is a a vehicle with a GVWR of 10,001 lbs or greater used for the transportation of persons or property for hire.

    Definition is the same weight for Signs, log books, medical card, authority and etc.
