I would say low rates cheap labor came into play when our economy went south yrs ago and still no light ahead only getting worse.Like a poster said everyone is out to make a buck and doesn't care what it pays. All the blame I put on Washington.Employers just help it along.I don't know exactly what you go thru because ive never been an O/O but I woud say co drivers share the same low pay.Only ppl in this industry for yrs knows what cheap labor is.

Yeah, that's my plan. I want to spend 12 hours a day hauling freight in an 80,000 pound semi so I have shelter. I mean...I know they don't recruit truckers from Harvard, but that logic is so stupid it's astounding.

Get ya some ''intamacy'' for the evening..
Then when finished you can go to the restaurant and talk all kinds of trucker stories and tell them the time you climbed Mt Fugi in a JB Hunt truck...

OP needs....
Free training.
Free meals.
Free room while training.
Free housing after training is completed.
Free transportation to training.
Then he will (he has already demonstrated a willingness to) work for $200 a week.
How is it that every politician in America blasts the $8.25 an hour minimum wage as too little to survive yet nobody will talk about a guy having to work 70 hours for $200? $2.85 an hour......
America has become the most disgusting place in the world for working class people. Yes there are many places in the world where people have far less food, shelter, and medical attention than Americans but here we reward non producers better than those who are willing to work. What a slap in the face.
I have an idea.
The OP would be much better off just going to California and collecting a welfare check, section 8 housing, and food stamps. That translates to about $450 a week in most parts of California....Do the math.Joetro, landstar8891, Chase05 and 1 other person Thank this. -
