I am with Transport America at this time and I am looking to switch company's but first I really need some advice..
Give me your opinions on who are the better company's???
Here Is what I am worried about..
CPM. right know I am making .29 cpm
Hub miles, practical mile, map miles. Transport America does not pay all miles.
Home Time. Transport America gives you 1 day for every 8 days out and If you are running regional you are out for 5 to 6 days and then you go home for a 34 hr restart. What ever happen to truly going home on the weekends? Get home sometime Fri, Sat and Sun off and leave sometime on Mon..
Company benefits. Transport America's Company benefits are not very good.
Good Equipment. I have to fight to get Transport America to fix anything.
Miles.. Transport America keeps me on the east coast and will not give me good miles. No west coast at all for a single driver.
Rider Program. I want to take my son out but at Transport America no one under 10 yrs old my son Is 5 yrs old.
Pet Program. Transport America does not allow pets at all.
Truck speed. Transport America is dropping the speed from 68 mph to 62 mph.
Qualcomm. Transport America has locked the qualcomm while the truck Is moving and I have to stop every time I get a message or to look at directions and this really burns up time over the course of the day.
If there Is anything else you think I should be concerned about or looking at then please let me know but those are my main concerns at this point and I would really like anyones opinions on what company's would work better for me..
Point me In the right Direction...

Ever thought about tankers? I am starting out with Superior Carriers at .415 loaded and .34 empty right out of school, after the training period of course. Only thing on your list that isn't better is riders and pets. They aren't allowed.

Thanks I will check It out. Am I wrong for some of the things I am looking for? Is It to much to ask for for a rookie with only 6 months exp?

My advice would be to stick it out 6 more months and then you can prolly get the things you mentioned a bit better. Most companys wont start you off no more than what you are making now. If you can hang out a few more months your options should be better. Good luck to you!
