Be forewarned, their software cannot change settings in engines, nor can do a forced regen, DPF reset, etc on many of the newer engines to get a truck going again after needing DPF cleaning. For this, you need that engines software and a decent adapter (not the JPRO). -
What he said, we use the snap on nexiq Iq with just the heavy duty standard software its basically useless. with manufacturer software it is a pretty good tool (no soft ware for cummins offered). I can't speak for the CAT software nexiq offers I dont have it I use CAT ET for all my cat stuff just got lucky and have an in

Have you looked into PF Diagnose? http://www.pocketfleetdiagnosticsolutions.com/? It's about 1/2 the cost and has better suport. It also does a little more than JPRO. Keep in mind that no aftermarket software will do everything that OEM does. Get an idea of what you want to do before you shell out big bucks.
We looked into JPRO and PF Diagnose. Neither could do injector trim codes, cylinder cut-out tests and a few other important things that we needed. Out of both, PF Diagnose would be my choice for basic diagnostics. JPRO had a lot of add ons/accessories that they wanted you to purchase separately. They also were tough to get info from, they'd answer questions, but offer no additional info. The people at Pocket Fleet went above and beyond and told us up front what it could not do. After asking them the same questions as we asked Noregon, I had many more questions for Noregon.
In the end, we wanted to be able to change injectors and prgram the new trims as well as change some customer perameters that neither program could do, so we got OEM software for our 3 engine types.
If you have Paccars with the multi-plexed systems that need Paccar ESA, it's about $800.00 and comes with a Nexiq USB link. That is cheap considering that the USB link is usually over $800.00 alone. So if you have Kenworth's or Pete's, buy that 1st and you'll already have a Nexiq for any other software you buy. -
I can do cut out test, trim codes, and cruise settings change top road speed etc with the nexiq

Also, can you do forced regens, Cat intake actuator tests, or HUEI pressure tests? Those were a few other things that it wouldn't do. Plus it couldn't change driver reward settings. I forget everything, but there was a lot the JPRO & PF Diagnose couldn't do. I didn't look into Snap-on's. -
Cat detroit and international it does most of that would have to verify each procedure. Cummins is heavy duty standard only code clearing and data list only a good mack program and others are available I don't have you buy programs sep if not all you have is heavy duty standard for the 4 programs I have cables and monitor and fault code guide was bout 6000 I think no yearly fee

Great imput now I really don't know what to buy. I was suspious of JPRO thats why I put it out there. What about their claim that they will automatically go to a Mitchille (seperate purchase) program and guide you threw the diagonistics for what ever code your working on. I did have the NEXIQ and liked it but it seems they did not keep up with the times and no cummins programs. THANKS FOR ALL THE IMPUT

Any updates on this thread? Anyone using the Nexiq HD and if so does it work with the EPS software?
