You fat guys can talk a lot of trash online and hiding behind a CB radio. In real life I am the one laughing at you backing into other trucks and taking an hour to dock. Your little comments do not mean anything to me. Get back to your .28 cent per mile jobs.

    mje Thanks this.

My first thought is, "has anyone else ever managed to back into that dock"? Why couldnt you if they did?

    I'm a fat guy.

And I can back up just fine despite driving an overweight Volvo 780. :biggrin_2559:

25cpm? Thats the least Ive made... FOR MY STUDENT DRIVING...hahahahhaha...

But seriously, remember that wherever you can drive forward, you can drive backwards. I used to deliver cabinets for the masterbrand account, all Jersey, Conn, and Mass.... really small family places with no dock and stuff... been there since their granddad started it with the money he saved during the war...

So ya, if you have two lanes width on one side, all you need is 1.5 lanes on the other side (like the road and shoulder)... pay attention when you turn... youll see what I mean. If you start backing 2 lanes out... all you need is 1.5 lanes to back into.... really.

So dont be afraid of most shippers, 90% or more will have like 2 truck lengths... you can almost straight back on a lot of shippers...

Hmmm I'm skinny making .42 a mile and get all of the bonuses as well as 3-4 days off a week! making very good miles, I wouldn't get out of bed for this amount! And you want me to back something in some place that is difficult? Thanks, I'll stay where I am! I hate these guys that are mentioned here, They make us that can do it if we have too sick!, I'm joking about some of this but other parts, I'm spot on, I learn something new everyday! And Thank You to my fellow truckers who get out and help rather then sick there and watch me back into something and then get out... LOL

Actually, my home terminal isn't much better than a tight city dock. It was designed/built back when Christ lost his shoes and trailers were only 40'. Pitch black as coal at night, with absolutely no lighting. No markers or guidelines either and you actually hope you have to (tight angle or blindside) back between or at least alongside another trailer, just so you have some reference points! lol

Kinda makes "leaving home" rather uplifting.

I had to blind side my trailer into a sunken dock not too long ago. That was fun.
