We have been there twice now, both early morning deliveries (5 am & 6 am) and have gotten out of there within two hours each time. There are lumpers, but that is the case with most grocery warehouses/DC's. It's nice to see such quick turn around time. It will be interesting to see if we end up with a weekday drop there again (one weekday and one weekend drop so far), as the weekday drop we made was basically a "cattle call", which made truck stop parking lot games look tame by comparison!

All in all, not too bad of a place to deliver to!

Piggly wiggly Bessemer is good. I was there last week and was shocked to see a lumping company in there. The were real old school where they used to have guys outside the gate on the cb offering up there services. Independent type guys.

I know you were just yankin' my chain! Considering that last week, our reload out of Alabama took 9 hours :biggrin_2551: . . I'll take two hours at the Pig any day! :biggrin_2559:

Piggly Wiggly, and Winn-Dixie for that matter, have closed a bunch of their stores in recent years. Last time I was at W-D in Montgomery it was like a ghost town in there. They ought to be able to get to you quickly since there isn't much going on.

Can only be a matter of time before they get gobbled up by Kroger or Publix. Hopefully the latter LOL.

Winn Dixie warehouse in Montgomery is now owned by C&S.

The 9 hour reload was t-shirts. We picked up sweet potatoes in Mississippi this week.
