Yeah yeah..then why read it Joe?
You didn't make it here at FL..let it go.
Life goes on for most but not you, carrying around that rock on your shoulder isn't doing you any good.

I never said it was all "hunky dorey",what company is?

I listed some things that have bothered me,but instead of flying off the handle and crying I get them resolved.

Yes dispatch has some problems,,communication stinks at times but it's the nature of truck driving.

I haven't made guarantee in awhile,I'm usually right at 1100/week.
When I run to Canada it goes up..border crossing is $150 now..along with mileage it adds up nicely.

Recent run: East Greenville PA to Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu Quebec Pays 618.54..thats for a 2 day run.
Run from Port of Newark NJ to Montreal Quebec=570.00 Flat rate..another 2 day run.
Leaving Friday to run local or do preloads and you have a nice week.

It doesn't always fall like that but often times it does.

But I must be lying because you say so.

Just to clarify a few things for people reading this thread.

Here's a little background on me:
Started driving for Foodliner in August, 2005. By January of 2006, I was the top money earner in the Langhorne, PA terminal. I did local running, hitting New York twice a night, at $150 a pop. Even though I took 10 weeks off, 9 of which were not paid, in 2008, I still grossed $71,000.00 I would do my 10 runs to NY, and maybe 1 load every other Saturday. I was terminated by Foodliner in September of 2010. Within my 5 years there, I got an award for what they call a "PERFECT YEAR", the last 4 years in a row. I also had 5 years safe driving, having never so much as scratched a mirror on my truck, EVER!

First of all, DriverJoe is correct about not breaking the guarantee, in all cases except if you get put on one of their rare, high paying accounts. I was grossing over $1,800 a week, but I was 1 of only 3 drivers who were making more than the $1,000 a week guarantee. The other 2 drivers doing better than the guarantee were grossing around $1,100 a week. Breaking the guarantee is possible, so Driver Joe is not 100% correct, but unless you get lucky enough to get put on some special account, what he said is correct.

Dogals Right Foot's attitude about drivers not fitting in, being the reason they are not doing well, is an out and out false statement. Most of the drivers that I worked with were great, hard working men. They did everything that was asked of them, and never complained. For all their hard work and dedication, they were rewarded with being held down to making the Guarantee each week.

If you are wondering why Foodliner would terminate me, if I was as great of a driver as I say, well......
I got fired for what I wrote right here on this very website. I was talking about things going bad at Foodliner, and that I would have to start looking around for something else. I was heartbroken more than angry, since my time at Foodliner was the best 5 years I ever had in a truck. I posted words to that effect at about 9 Am, and got a phone call at 9 PM that same day, telling me to clean out my truck. I was fired.

I asked Frank DiStillio to point out a single word of what I wrote that was not true, and he could not. He said it was about my negative attitude toward the company, not if what I wrote was true or not.

The guy who ratted me out to Foodliner was named "HOGBOY" on this website. The way he wrote, and general phrases he used were amazingly similar to Dogals Right Foot. HogBoy was a company plant, put in here to debunk negative comments made about Foodliner. It seems to me that either HOGBOY is back, under a different name, or we have someone trained the same way, to pick up the ball where HOGBOY left it, to run with it.

If anyone doubts what I write here, I will give full disclosure. My Name is Jim Smith. I have hair down to my belt. Ask about me at the Langhorne Terminal, and they will remember me. Even a couple guys who I did not get along with, told me I was given a raw deal, but that's not the point. The point is that Foodliner will lure you in with the promise of big money, only to hold you back from making it later.

If anyone wants to say I didn't fit in, or didn't want to sleep in a truck, they are fools. If they want to challenge my work ethic, they are also fools. I was their most productive, highest paid driver when I was fired, all because I wrote openly and honestly about the company here on the Trucker's report. Even after I was fired, I didn't "CRY" about anything. I moved on to bigger and better things. I just don't want to see some new people get caught up in the lies and poor treatment they will be subject to, in most cases, at Foodliner.

First of all I'm no plant..just a company driver.
I am by no means a mindless zombie,I tend to keep to myself and not get involved in the "he said she said".

I have read your thread on Foodliner Truck N Tech..and it has holes in it..but also some valid points.
Either way it doesn't effect me..like you I fight for my runs/money.

I will say maybe I have been lucky with the way I run,but my terminal manager and dispatcher tend to take care of me because I will run Canada or further.

It's not all red roses,I never meant to say FL was perfect..they aren't.
They have problems like everyone else, but in my case they have done right by me.

I run out of Langhorne from time to time so I will ask about you next time I run into one of the guys that runs out of there.

My experiences with my fellow drivers at my terminal are this:
Some run hard, most of them think they have to be home everyday.
Not that there's anything wrong with that, they tell you up front you're going to spend the night out..I mean you do have a sleeper for a reason.
I for one think that 1000/week is minimum for what drivers should make..anywhere.

As for Driverjoe he has to attack anyone who sees Foodliner in a different light,so of course I responded in kind.
Also there's a pattern with you Joe,but I wont point it out,no reason to really.
I shouldn't let anyone bring me down to their level,so I wont argue with the nay sayers anymore.

Foodliner works for me,sure it could change and when it does I will speak up.
It seems to me most people are somewhat happy here,so that tells the story.

Speaking of stories..there's always 2 sides to every story..we don't always get both sides.
As for running illegal and ruining your license..YOU control that ,not the company.

So I will leave it at that, but remember just because someone talks good about a company doesn't mean they're a plant.

I mean really, paranoid factor is high around here.

    Keep yanking!

Well, you writing style is not exactly like HOGBOY's, plus you are not saying FL is the best thing ever, so you might not be the plant I thought you were.

As I said in the original thread years ago, Foodliner was very good to me for 5 years. The problems started when a few faces changed at the corporate level.

As far as any holes in my story about Foodliner, I would be glad to elaborate on any question you might have, just so anyone reading this thread would gain as much clarity as possible. If the holes involve dates, I do tend to get confused now and then on exact dates, but the main point would be true. Plus remember that some awards at Foodliner run by the Calendar Year, which means my first 4 months or so were not counted in the safe driving, or perfect year awards.

If my time at Foodliner was the rule, instead of the exception to it, I would have less of an axe to grind with them. I just want anyone thinking about hiring on with them being as fully informed as possible.

Hey Truckin-Tech good to see you on here. Sounds like all is going well for you. Same here had a few bumps during this economic downturn but landed a great job. Hell no I didnt even think of crawling back to FL even though I left there with a good record, both with them and the DOT. I agree Dougal does sound a lot like Hogboy but Ill let it go at that. Others can make their own comparisons of recent post from past. He is right about one thing I have moved on, but really couldnt resist refreshing my opinion about FL since he sounds so much like Hogboy. Most drivers on here are doing their homework before taking a job so Im sure they will see his comments for what they really are. Lots of key things that recruiters use to ropem in. I am tired of commenting about that rotten company so this will be my last post about F...liner, promise. In closing to all you drivers who are considering FL I say just beware. Personally I hated it there. I was threatened, lied to, pushed, but never let that rotten Franklin Park terminal staff bring me down to their low level. I maintained my professionalism and moved on. Foodliner at Franklin Park, Illinois, which is a NW burb of Chicago, had some daycab jobs, but I was regional since I lived so far from the terminal. I expected to sleep out on the road, which I did 5-6 nights a week, I seldom got home during the week and if I did you were expected to roll at 10. So Im not really sure what Hogboy, I mean Dougals is talking about when he talks about drivers not
wanting to sleep in their truck? Hell I just expected it and I did. So you be your own judge, maybe you will just love loading at ADM downtown Chicago and delivering to places like Newlyweds Bakery, using electronic logs, and maybe their attitude toward drivers has improved. I doubt it and think their poor treatment of drivers is making recruiting difficult. Maybe... But driver beware. Best wishes to all of you and safe travels out there. Joe

Since when do drivers contract loads? Uh oh? Sounds like you just blew your cover! You sure are privey to a lot of company information for a driver? I just cant remember the last time a company sat me down and said " gee Joe, you are going to make big money, we just contracted 26 loads to Canada and at $150/crossing, you are going to rake it in". WOW you still think drivers are dumb, dont ya?

You are a moron..as you can see above its says we..as in foodliner.

    But believe what you will.

You couldn't make it here so it must be a bad place to work, plus things do change.
Except your ability to read what is posted.

The company in sherbrooke quebec contracted for 26 loads.
Sherbrooke paid for 1060 miles at .41 1/2 cents per mile..that equals 427.45 plus 150 for border crossing.
577.45 for a 2 days run..I was doing 2 a week plus something local on Friday.
At my terminal guys don't like to go to Canada..so the few of us that do make out.

I'm done explaining anything to you..just whine and work whatever job you're working Joe.
I bet its fun being around you.
I've seen guys like you all my career, crying and complaining how unfair life is..Move on and let it lay.

It's a shame when anyone likes the company they're working for..someone comes along and says BS like this.

You make me laugh..so thanks for that.

Things still running smooth, only hiccups are payroll.
They straighten the problems out but it is annoying.

Work is steady and pay is good.
Haven't had any DOT issues since being here so that's great.

Some changes on the horizon for my terminal but not sure what they are yet.

As for the Nay sayers..paranoia and bitterness will eat you up.
It's ok to like a company you work for(it doesn't make you a recruiter),none are perfect but you have to work things out.
Sometimes you can't change the people who are in charge and you have to fold your hand and move on.

Truck N Tech(Jim) did what you said and asked around Langhorne about you, they remember you good and bad..LOL!
Isn't that the way it always is.

If anyone would like more info feel free to PM me.

    Keep yanking!
