DAC reports are a employment file covering a driver's employment history. It's done under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and just like your credit history you're entitled to a free copy every year. It used to be administered by USIS (the guys who can't figure out who the bad guys are for federal security clearances) but now it's done by and outfit called HireRight.

Put "DAC report" in a Google search box, and you'll get info on it, where to look, and how to access your personal DAC report.

The way it works is that your carrier can put information in there concerning your employment history, problems, crashes, tickets, rumors, lies, BS, out-n-out falsehoods, etc. None of this is required to be backed by proof. You can challenge what they put in there, and the carrier will be required at that time to prove it. It takes forever to get any of this done, and you do need to stay on top of it. That's why one should request a yearly copy of this personal scandal sheet.

Now for the kicker... carriers do look at this as a source of information in a background check. And... ready?... may deny you access to employment applications depending on what's in there. Yep... you can't even get to orientation at a lot of places, and it may be due to some vengeful dispatcher lying about what happened to you! There's also carriers who do not even look at this, knowing much of it is complete fabrication.

    Ain't life grand???

The deer certainly got the worst end of the deal. He pulled the parts off the road, checked the front end of the truck, found nothing terribly out of sorts (yes things were cracked and there was deer hair all over the front) and continued on with his load. As soon as it was daylight, he took pics for safety to look at. All in all: replaced the front grill, both sides of the bumper, and the radiator. Plastic got cracked. The crack in the radiator was very small, which was good, as it took a while before he was able to put the truck in the shop. Total cost: $6kish. Our cost $1k deductible plus $600 for the radiator (which was pro-rated.)

I think he was at about 74k that trip. 74k at 65mph vs buck, even full grown.......the deer is gonna get the raw end of the deal.

The one thing you should also know about DAC is that if you haven't had a trucking job in the past, you probably won't have a DAC report. Yet.

Anyone looking to get your DAC, make sure you DO NOT pay for it. There are different "services" out there that will charge you for it, but just like your credit report, its free once a year. Also make sure you're honest. They seem to be able to find out everything. And if you're on meds, get them cleared with someone in medical before you go. My roommate was sent home for it. His medicine was approved by Prime, but there was a timing issue with having to have been on it for so long and he just barely missed. He was sent home the first day.

Thanks ironpony and to all of you for your advice, well given and well taken.
Well like you said people love to hurt people no matter there fault or not some people just cant see around that corner. They have to be right no matter what, it's a crying shame. It only hurts for a minute, to say I am wrong or I am sorry. Boy can see it now if we all could do DAC on the
our Elected offical's, might stop some of this stupid running around an off the chain.

    Thanks again everyone
P.S. Next time you have Bambi over Knife is newly sharpen and fork in hand give me a call !! be right there !!! LOL.
