You are absolutely right...after all my bad luck with brand new truck and very bad accident, and after cooling my head, i consider myself very lucky...I feel great and looking forward for many more successful years in trucking...and little more better luck...

 

I think Volvos are out for us because of the low resale value and lack of shops/parts compared to other truck manufacturers, at least these are rumors we've heard regarding Volvos. We do need to go check out some Petes though, as neither of us have been in one yet.

I have had some annoying small issues, but nothing serious. Basically all of them was recall or adjusting problem. My downtime was two hours, the rest was scheduled, while I was off.

Thanks for the info Oram! I will keep checking back to this thread to follow any other issues, good or bad, that you have. Your information (and others in this thread) is much appreciated. My husband and I have been asking every driver of 680's we've seen and about half seem to be reporting these weird sensor issues. All seem to be really happy with the truck, so thats nice to hear.

 

All drivers I met were timorous, suspicious and uncertain. No one looked driving TRUCK OF THE YEAR 2013. WTF? One was complaining that bunk heater doesnt work properly. Can somebody confirm that? And only one driver from all told me that driving t680 is like driving a limo.

 

I'm sorry for bring a little late getting in here, but in saying "Butte. Pass ", do you mean Homestake Pass I-90 east of Butte MT?

Not trying to nit pick correct you, just looking for a point of reference for performance of my own truck for comparison.

Oram, does the cab ac/heater have to be on for the bunk ac/heater to work? Our T600 is like that and I can't stand it. I like no ac or heat on (unless absolutely necessary) but I have to have it on for my husband when he's in the bunk.

Also, did you or anyone else in this thread purchase the warranty for the emissions stuff? A salesman in Phx said you could purchase that warranty separately from the engine warranty.

I was talking to the guy on truck stop who mislead me. That was conversation not about Espar, but bunk part of truck heater. He said its not working properly. I didn't understand that.
