    Worker comp= 1631.76 a year(not needed)

Bobtail Ins = 1,011.40 a year (not needed)

    2643.16
you could save just on that..That is 2643.16 towards your own Cargo and Liability

The problem with WC is you don't know if you'll need it. But yes that grand in Unladen Liability is not needed under your own authority. If you hire any o/o to your authority, you'd be wise to require it from them though, just like Landstar does.

Fortycal..I always respect your opinion..I just had a meeting with a friend of mine Joe.He is 70 years old and is retiring..I just bought his trailer today. One step closer to my ''REAL'' OWN BUSINESS..Not L/S version of our own business...

He layed every number out for me...

    His NY Tag is 1,300

NY Trailer Tag is a one time 27.00

Cargo and Liability is 9,100...(This covers everything)

No workers comp needed in NY State unless you employ drivers. Then you have to pay...

    His AUTH was 299.00....One time.

He has his own ''account'' for IFTA...He recieves a CREDIT EVERY QUARTER..It takes him 45 minutes to punch in the numbers a quarter....

He has ZERO CSA Points and passed every audit since the 70's....By the way..He seen the IRS/DOT Audit man TWO TIMES since the 70's...

Forty i am sorry you still have the L/S Rose Colored glasses on...STOP DENYING WHAT LANDSTAR DOES TO US BCO'S..!!!!!!

This has to be talked about....

    JPenn and InternationalTrucker Thank this.

You will be sucsessful..I just want to tell you the ''WHOLE'' truth about what your getting yourself into...

For some strange reason the BCO'S that tell the whole truth get run over time and time again...Landstar's rose colored glasses is like trying to get an Alcoholic off his Booze..
