Mapping software, I've had good luck with MS streets and trips. Fair warning, it doesn't post low clearances.
-
There is a website that does truck routing similar to Mapquest or googlemaps for cars, maybe someone can post up the name of it, I never use it.
Most standalone truck specific gps units will do truck routing adequately if programmed right.PC Miler(ALK Technologies) makes Windows compatible software that is supposedly the same programming as used by PC Miler GPS units. Do a search. -
www.truckmiles.com is the websight.
seems like most companies use mapquest.com. when paying the driver by the mile. some of them trips come up REALLY short. -
Also, as mentioned earlier, the ProMiles site has a free quick route calculator as well if you have internet available. -
try Portland, OR to Eureka, CA it use US-199, but it not permited for trucks in national park in California.
PC Miler same.
if it use US-199 you can thought it to garbage and start using something like Street and Trips and atlas.
Car and navigation with your brains always better than super truck navigator with never thinking driver. -
the atlas doesn't show 199 being restricted,
i'd like to see lovell wyoming to reno nevada. truckmiles will route you according, but something like mapquest, would route through yellowstone. -
199 not marked yellow in mcnally in ca. And it restricted.
