I will agree with you on the hometime. I requested 3 days off after running 18 days and they didn't seem to mind. I am scheduled to come back out on Sat. I do live a decent area for freight so I have been sent home both mt and loaded. I usually run 2 or 3 Fed Ex loads a month but sometimes things happen or I feel it is just better to run at night I will. Joey you are also right. I really like how they leave up it to Driver on how to run the load. I do on occasion let them know on what's going on but the answer I usually get is "As long you deliver on time that is all that matters."

Yea they do take care of the folks here. I pretty much always go home loaded. I think 1 or 2 times I've went home empty then picked up about 20 minutes from my house in cabool mo. I recommend these guys to anyone because they treat drivers so much better than these large cookie cutter companies.

Finally finished up the Pre-Orientation Training on Friday. Spent most of Tuesday doing the alley dock then finished up the obstacle/confidence course on Wednesday, Thursday was learning the art of progressive shifting and Floating Gears 101. Road test on Friday and that's one week down. If any of you Ozark folks haven't seen that course I'd recommend getting over there to take a look. The forward and reverse serpentine is the fun one. And from several drivers I've talked to they all agree you may think the course is just a bunch of BS but turns out you actually do all these things out on the road. Backing around obstacles, blind side alley docks, diminishing lanes, etc... The one thing that finally sunk in for me just outta cdl school is learning to drive the trailer and not letting the trailer drive you. Anyway I should be in a truck with the trainer Wednesday. But in my short time here I've been really happy about the folks here. A big group of good folks to work with. I'm really happy I found Ozark for my 1st company and didn't end up at some mega carrier. Plus free lunch through orientation! All the trucks I've seen here are in good shape. Even the training truck was clean. Mostly Freightliner Columbias and Cascadias but I've seen a few Volvos out on the yard. I'm guessing new drivers get the Columbias and the vets get the brand new Cascadias. Hard to beat that. Ha!

So far, Ozark is at the top of my list of companies to apply to, so I have the following questions:

Are there many women that drive for Ozark? Do they like it there?

For the female drivers: How does Ozark compare to other companies you have worked for?

I would appreciate all input. Thanks

I have only talked to one female Driver in Memphis and she liked here. At orientation when I met my first DM (They moved people around and I got a new one). He said if you aren't happy here you might as well turn your keys in and go drive a bus. I am actually start to believe that. Lol!
