Thank God I do not work for some place like this. There is no way I would ever sign any papers in orientation stating I agree to be treated like a 5th grader. I do not know how you people work for these big companies and get spit on constantly. Do yourself a favor and go to work for somebody that will treat you like a human being.

HOS violations and too many overspeeds will get you fired just as fast as too many service failures.

The sf policy has changed in recent months. Now it is a percentage of on-time loads. Fall below that and you're in trouble.

to show up early is not a good reason to slap the hand of the driver.

Again, it is a customer request that we not show up early for some pick ups or deliveries. Home Depot comes to mind. The space in the store's lot is limited, as is the space in their receiving area. Actually you can get to the store early, just don't do your arrival macro until you are within the time parameter.

Other places want to load trucks as product comes off their line because their warehouse has limited storage. Others want their supplies just in time for when they need them for the same reason.

It isn't necessarily Swift being strict but rather the customer being strict with Swift, and as we all know, stuff rolls downhill.

Companies like this, is one of the biggest problems for company drivers. This reminds me of some of the meat loads that we pick up, where they have a two day window to get you loaded.

Another thing is to never refuse a load. Always do a mac 9 with the day and times of pickup and delivery. Even if you have to do a full 34 to get enough time back to do the load go ahead and reply with that time factored in.

I got my only one ever BS SF a few years ago when I first started for delivery too early, it was an Owens Corning load that I picked up off Lancaster that another driver made late to yard thus making the appt late. So I pull up to customer trying to beat 5pm closing time per CSR and it was 16:55, sent my arrived final then a minute later got a reschedule msg for 7am next day, no note for arriving early SF anywhere and schedule changed while already at customer. A couple weeks later a service failure msg appears for arrival early, I was pissed and I hardly ever get pissed.

I don't miss my DM at the time who didn't do much for this situation, he got canned a few months later for some reason. So I know Swift gives out some BS service failures, but I also know there are plenty of drivers who screw themselves as well.
