Make yourself a mobile stereo.
Made a box with speaker cutouts out of 1x1 and 1/4" wood. The radio sits in the middle and mount the speakers to the left and right then leave it on the floor. WE had several tri-axle dummp truck drivers do that and it worked out well.
The big chain hardware stores sells them to the house builders, but the radio and speakers will be cheap. Or maybe you can find a used one and add your own radio and speakers.

I have actually thought about this one, The problem is that the cab is REALLY small. I think that I have driven compact cars with more space than this truck has. You have the drivers seat, enough room for the shifter in the middle, and the passengers seat, and there armrests are incorporated into the doors. You cant set anything in the middle because it will hang up on the shifter (spicer trans), and the passengers seat needs to be free for an occasional passenger. doesn't leave a whole lot of room to set anything -

Not a whole lot of options on an L model. Under the dash sucks, you'll have to take the radio out to pull the dog house. You may be able to cut a hole where the ash tray is, but you have to fab some kind of housing up so it doesn't look hackish. Something like this might open up some options for you, http://car-audio-review.toptenreviews.com/kenwood-kmm-review.html Only 4" deep might help.
Or, since many stereos come with remotes now. Mount it under the pass seat facing the drivers seat, then mount the little remote on the dash in arms reach??
Speakers are fairly easy, new tech is making some very small speakers sound really good. A set of components with 4-6" mids in the doors or kick panels and tiny stick on tweeters on the dash. Add some shallow mount rears and it'll sound pretty good. -
