Ok, does anyone else who drives for FedEx have to show your DOT medical when you get your paper work? I'm being told it's more than 1 terminal, at least for FedEx Ground, that when you go to get your scanner and paper work, you MUST show your DOT card every single time every single day. Anyone have any more info on this? It's quite annoying.

That's an odd one.

I have to show mine once a month. No card = no work.

You have to show it at Celadon terminals when you leave with your load, I think it's a ctpat requirement.

Yup, every single day, I have to dig out my wallet, dig for my DOT card. They just started it this past week.
I think I'm going to just carry an expired DOT card in my pocket. She said she just needs to see that I have it, she doesnt look at it.
So if I keep my expired one handy I can just pull it out, because if I kept my regular one in a handy spot, I'm bound to lose it.
It's technically MY DOT card, it's just my "expired" DOT card. -
They started the same thing at my carrier a year or two ago... it slacked off after the safety lane guys started forgetting to do it. You're getting too many driver fitness CSA points... folks who can't produce a medical card at the coop, even if their medical status is just fine. This is management's typical response on this one.

What are they going to do when we no longer have to carry the card?
