It means they are so bad that drivers just walk away from their vehicles long term career implications be ######. OIW, they don't just make a driver want to stop driving for them, they make a driver just want to stop driving period.

Those stickers say so much! I'd be concerned about a company getting so many abandoned units that they need to rely on other drivers to report them abandoned. Why so many, hmmm?!?

Simply means they do not want the driver to ever be away from the truck for no reason. Not even a life.

Marksteven and Lux Prometheus Thank this.

Think every company hires recovery drivers. That sure does paint a grimm picture doesn't it.My company has a lot of recovery drivers.Sad thing is nothing gets done to try and resolve the issue and then they wonder why the high turnover rate.Actually they know but companies never admit anything, its always the drivers fault.

Recovery drivers and stickers to call the company if the truck hasn't moved are huge red flags. Forget it!!!!

Sounds like my life right now. But I don't have one of those stickers on my truck. I'm making sacrifices for a very specific reason.

STICKERS are also there to alert the company of a possible MEDICAL CONDITION or DEATH of a driver not just for abandoned equipment .

    Good point.

However, a driver could have a custom decal made up to notify others of this. I would if I had such a condition. I'm sure you've seen the decals on team driver units that identify them in case of an incident to check the sleeper.

To just slap them on very truck just screams "run away!" to me.

Here's the bigger picture problem. A single company can't really do what would fix driver turnover. Look at LTL, in that field driver turnover is under 10%. Why? I bet it has a lot to do with better pay, overtime pay, better benefits, more job security, more hometime/home nightly, and being paid for all work done instead of a piece meal system that often means you are paid less when you work harder.

Almost sounds easy to fix doesn't it? An OTR company could just start acting like an LTL company - copy their pay structure and set up a bunch of yards so drivers can drop a load and grab one headed back to the home terminal the same day. One problem, they would go out of business because they would be noncompetitive with the other OTR companies. So the only workable solution is either maintain the status quo or there needs to be a system wide change. Problem with that is drivers hate both the status quo and the two ways system wide changes have been made in the past - government and unions.

    So any suggestions?
