big hammer, unroll all straps in 32 or below an store in box.

I still haven't found anything to keep the winches from freezing in the tracks other than a tourch and hammer -
I'm not worried about the winches or straps. It's the Double L track that freezes solid and is a pain to work with. Propane torch is my only and best solution I guess.

Ever try silicone spray?. May make it easier to get track clear
Freightlinerbob, SHC and catalinaflyer Thank this. -
If you pull the same trailer all the time then you can use silicone spray, diesel fuel, old motor oil etc. Anything that will leave a film on the surface will make the ice easier to knock loose. Now if your up to spending way more money than necessary there's some stuff made for aircraft called Icex II but it's $150 a pint, the main ingredient in it is silicone so just regular silicone spray will work for a lot less. I have a pint in the garage at home I'd make a heck of a deal on and sell it for 1/2 price.
If your always hooked to a different trailer like we are then a propane torch, a big hammer and some carefully used 4 letter expletives will get em moving.Freightlinerbob and Skunk_Truck_2590 Thank this. -
I'll try the silicone spray. I had thought about diesel in a spray bottle but figured I'd get it all over my gloves and it wold make a mess.
catalinaflyer Thanks this. -
I've found the best way is to keep the winch track clean clean clean. Once a week I'll take it to a self serve truck wash and clean the track well. Even if the winches freeze they should break loose easily. That way if there is any ice buildup it's nice and smooth, your winches actually move around better.
Not much you can do other than that. -
