Swift has mostly Wabash Trailers..If you get a different brand and it doesn't say Duraplate..
As long as it doesn't have Wood Covered Walls..that's what Duraplate basically means.

Bad practice ... Always try to grab a trailer that can be used for any load ... MS and T and 99 trailers can't be used for food grade or paper ... paper generally requires a trailer no older than 10 years, most of 53 trailers are from the 90s.

My trailer hierarchy is 13, 12, 11, 08, 50, 54, 53, T. There are some 10 van trailers out there but they are generally containers. 14s are 14 foot high and 57 are 57 footers.

There is some oddball numbered trailers that came off of previous dedicated fleets. GH is one that comes to the top of my head. For the most part they are essentially 53 series trailers.

Great advice. You may not need a newer, food-grade trailer for your next load, but that load could be canceled or taken off your truck, and then you and your mid-'90s MS Carrier rig are SOL. In my 2 years at Swift (not there anymore) I came across 1 or 2 T-series trailers that were newer, re-numbered Duraplates, and perhaps the same number of MS Carrier trailers without plywood walls. Also to be avoided are specialized trailers, like the AB (beer) series. A shipper refused to load me (trailer had built-in load bars and tracks, reducing the inside height by a few inches) when I showed up with one of these, and I ended up spending half a day finding a place where I could swap it with an ordinary van. Good luck.

My RM GPS gets me there every time.

Other than that, maybe not so much.
Follow the QC directions if you don't have a GPS - and hope you get the right place, as there are a couple MOM facilities in that area.

A note to the trailer numbering...the 547 548 and 549 are newer than the 50 series. The GH refers to garment trailers used by the likes of J C Penny and such (the H comes from hanger I assume) and many times will have ropes hanging in them that are used to hold the hanging clothing. The 57 footers start with 75 and are generally older and illegal in many states. A trailer starting with 73 is an old 57 cut down to 53 feet. The ultra lite trailers are marked as such on the outside walls have aluminum floors and single wide tires. Used for water loads around Texas and also regular loads. There are regular trailers that begin with 10. The ones that I had were reconditioned from the mid 1990s and are acceptable as being within the 10 year or newer rule at paper mills. Check the plate on the front bulkhead for recondition date. Some of the rail cans still have the 10 configuration but many have the numbers changed to begin with a 90 or 91.

If it is a swift trailer the D3 means it has been distroyed 3 times so it is good to go.
