If he wanted to talk to a recruiter, why would he come here? A lot of people, like myself, like to get their info from many sources, including a recruiter but, they are the last on the list. I never call a recruiter until I have come here and elsewhere. Just saying.

It truly depends on the company. A lot of the major companies (Roehl, CR England, etc) have very specific rules on felons. For instance, Child Molesters and Sex Offenders can never be hired, while most other felons there needs to be a 7-10 year "grace period" between the felon leaving prison and being hired.

Like SheepDog mentioned, you should look around for information... BUT the best person to talk to is someone that actually works for the company you are trying to become employed by.

Well, I'm in no position to dispute what you're saying. That said though I still don't believe it. I'd have to see that for myself.

A recruiter will tell you if the company can hire him with his type of felony.

That's true but, I want to find out everything I can on my own, from TTR of course, about the company before I call. Why bother to call, if I don't like the company? Surely you don't think that we all should just call the recruiter and take his/her word on whether the company is good or not, do you? If he is just looking for ANY company to hire him, than I guess that would be the way to go. He is also looking for options, so that he can can add more to his list of WHO to call. Not to mention he is new at this and doesn't have a clue what his options are. Better to come here and get opinions/answers from a multitude of people rather than a recruiter, that is only paid to do one thing,,,,recruit.

Of course, find out all you can about the company before you call. I said to call the recruiter for detailed info about felonies...not to find out if it's a good company or not.

Keep in mind that people have opinions. And sometimes those opinions will vary from your own. One person's experience and his personal opinion on the situation could taint your opinion or views on the whole situation.

Example: Just because someone says that one movie is the worst ever created doesn't necessarily mean that you will think that way. If a recruiter is doing their job correctly then they will give you all the information you need without any bias ism. And based on that information you should make your own opinion.

    *shrugs* Just my 2 cents.
