Thank you for the correction. Concussions are eating my memory alive...
It was the T/A on 84 I was referring to. DUMP. The best part was right as I was about to pull out in mid morning, with a half empty parking lot, a CR England driver pulls in front of me, sets his brakes, and walks away from his truck. In the lane of travel. We had a quick talk when I caught up to him.

I don't know why I said Milford. I fuelled at a Pilot a couple times right off 95, something-Haven [I know that's half the towns in CT]. I guess I thought Shartlesville was a Pilot as I've come to associate bad parking lots layout with that franchise.

I think a lot of drivers don't know about that J on 295 in Jersey, there's always plenty of spots when I end up there, even in the middle of the night.

No doubt. The pilot is Denver is a hole. I went there once and that was enough for me. There's a place right next door to it that sells snow chains CHEAP, and that's why I went. The chain place even lent me a dolly to bring them to my truck.

I spent a weekend at a dirt lot truck stop at the end of Rte. 29 outside Miami some years back and that was hands down the most digusting low down and outright dangerous place I had ever been up until that point, this was 20 odd years ago mind you, but it still remains a nightmare in my head. I backed my reefer up against a telephone pole so I could find a place to eat. There was a ongoing poker game in the back of some ones dry van. Lot lizards day and night. Gunshots at night. Just a gem... I wonder if it's still there? I can't remember the name.

I've been to that truck stop but can't remember the name either--but you have to be talking about US Rte 27--Rte 29, almost 700 miles from Miami, heads northeast out of Pensacola and just keeps on keeping on.

    csk1 Thanks this.

There's a couple in Wyoming that can match the old Monteagle.

It might have been when they leveled it but back in the day man it was the bees knees .
The Mont eagle truck stop was a legend .
Everyone was headed for the top of the rock !!!
Of course it had a red ball on it back then .

I remember when I was a kid that there was a truck stop in Alligator Alley just off US 27 called Terry Town. They knocked it down when they extended I-75 into Miami around 30 years ago.
