WTF? Why don't they get their own guys to run teams to connect regional hubs? Pay them decent and put em in a Volvo sleeper. What a backwards company, I dont blame you. Where you going now?

I am done with driving atleast for awhile, hopefully permanently. For me atleast I can't/wont tolerate the unnecessary bs in the ltl industry, and I would never do OTR.

Sure bringing home 11-1300 most weeks was lovely but for the last year I have been extremely unhappy, and the hub I run to is just miserable. My friends have said I am such a nicer person since I have been away.

I'm pretty much debt free except for this #### car I bought, and I'm a yr from getting a second degree in Math. Gonna go crunch numbers somewhere in a cubicle.

I really want to turn in my cdl so im not tempted to drive again, but it may come in handy in the future and I don't want to regret it then.

My first and only interaction with Con-way, Disregard, if you are a con-way driver ( great guys ) This does not apply to you.

The local shop 2 miles from my house. Drive into the yard ( POV ). I locate the drivers parking area. Park. Then escort myself through the building ( 2 story ). Walk through the break room and then through the drivers locker room. Who ever I see give a polite wave or a nod.

Finally find the Office ( 2nd level ) staircase through the back side of the locker room.

Ask a suit and Tie fella, I'd like to fill out a application.

His stunned look was hilarious, How did you get in here he ask? Reply: David Copperfield youtube

No humor, No smile, Nothing lol

I was instructed to sign the "guest entry log" I said no thanks and went home.
Did not even bother ask anything except how did you get in here :biggrin_2556:

One of the rare moments the job wasn't for me.

you can make really good money, that doesn't guarantee happiness with what you do

sometimes within the same company and in the same state two terminals are complete opposites

Spot on 100%. Easy to be a team player in the trucking industry. Always 1 person making it miserable for those interactions.
( looking at you dispatchers, management ) Very rare had a miserable end of the world I hate everyone co-worker ( driver )
