My friend need help-bad psp-decent dac-clean mvr

What is PSP ?

 

It's something we should all be concerned about, same with the DAC report. Jake Green, google it... it's called Pre-employment Screening Program,,,something like that anyway. Crash data stays for 5 years and inspection data stay for 3 years.

Anyone know what companies do/don't use it? I filled out an app using Intelliapp2 and it states the company does but, I am hoping it is just stating that for the one's that do, encase they do. I am hoping the company I am trying to get on with, to buy a truck from a current contractor, doesn't look at it.

 

It's part of CSA2010. You have your violations and then the PSP which is your percentile ranking comparison of the BASIC scores. I think it's Personal Score Profile but I forget, just guessing. It's kind of like looking at a company's SMS. What's SMS?

My PSP doesn't give me any ranking, just lists all the crashes I have been, injury's, deaths and what not,. It also lists all my inspections, OOS, violations and what not. It also lists what violation each were like 383.51 and a short description but that is pretty mush all it does.

I still would like to know where people are getting these points from? Again, I was told by my lawyer my speeding ticket has 30 points. The only points I know of are the FMCSA points associated with each violation, like my speeding ticket is 10. 1 through 10 for each violation and it stops at 60, I think it said. That is when you will be put OOS for some time. At least that is how I read it, or remember reading it the other day. Again, where are these points people talk about, 100 points, 120 points, or 30 points for a speeding ticket? I spent a whole day researching and found nothing that speaks of these high points.

Your not "busting my chops" or anything,,,I already know that eventually ALL carriers will be using this and they all CAN use it now, for a fee. I know it will cause some grief for good drivers and weed out the bad drivers, at least for a short time. I am at a point that my PSP will keep me from getting hired on with a lot of carriers but, not all. So, I have to work harder to find a carrier, than I did before. In 3 years my record will be clean again, and I will be in much better shape than I am now.

I agree with your statement; "absolutely unnecessary", I believe that if your given a citation, go to court, and the judge dismisses it, you should not have a record of it. If your innocent, your innocent, but with the PSP you not.

 

I have experience no problems at all securing a job with my "less than desirable" psp.

 

I agree with you 100% Just not sure what this has to do with my post but, no big deal. You are right in what you say. The only way your PSP data will come off is to wait out the 5 years for crash data and 3 years for Inspection data.

Where are these companies getting their numbers for "their" threshold?
