I think JB has been leap frogged by many less desirable than they. I very rarely even see JB anymore except inter modal.

JB Hunt isn't on the radar because all the idiots drive for CRE, CRST and a bunch of others, now.
Wasn't JB one of the first to start killing off the rates by increasing the volume? If I remember correctly, Ol' JB said if each one of his trucks only profited $.01 per mile, he would make all the money he would ever need.

That's an interesting quote. How many trucks do they have? Using round numbers, 1000 trucks driving 100,000 miles each per year is 1 Million. Doesn't seem like a lot, which is why I was wondering # of trucks.

I'm thinking it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 3500 power units at the time. This was years ago. I should have worded that differently; "If each truck makes $.01 profit". So, 3,500,000. Profit. Money in his bank account. Of course, you know how trucker stories are.

I just checked. Wikipedia states that JBH is running over 12,000 power units and 47,000 trailers.

Who's Hotrod? The only math being done was mine, and it is correct. Joetro revised some figures and used my math - his was correct also.

Are you on the right thread?
