anybody know if the ones sold for CB's will work or can work for satellite antenna? Best way to modify for my purpose?
Have a 10 in high antenna that mounts to the mirror bracket on older trucks with tube mirror frames and wanted to be able to remove quickly if needed(like into a new truck!!)

well, no, but still it can be a pain to remove the bolts. Dropped one of the split washers when I uninstalled it to switch trucks/accounts. Truck I have now is an older one for the account I'm on. MY hope is once our area establishes itself for this national account we will get newer ,at least, trucks. In an 05 daycab now.

I had thought of using the vise grip style or the T bolt C-clamp type and adding the bird perch post to it where the CB antenna connector goes??

Most of those mounts use standard 1/4-20 bolts for mounting. The first time I move the mount, I toss the stock bolts and replace them with stainless (if I didn't use stainless initially).

something that mounts that low, on the mirror base plate mid door height, is high enough to catch good clear signal at all times?

Would likely mount at the top of the pass door removing one of the spot mirror bolts.

On the 13 Cascadia I have the Perch thing is too big to fit in there.

I have seen some with them mounted there. So there must be a smaller version of it.

There is one made specific to that location. $44.99 . Perch is mounted to a "C" base that bolts to the back half of the mirror base. I'll choose the $15 one.
