You guys sure are not making this thread easy to moderate. It's a happy thread, period. A negative discussion got started and this isn't the thread for that discussion.
Walmart drivers stop egging it on wanting answers to a discussion that shouldn't of started in the first place. HalpinUout, helpusout and go start your own Walmart rant in the rant forum or the political forum. You have no business in here with your negative general views on Walmart. Wrong forum!
Look at it this way... this type thread is for driver's interested in driving for Walmart. What a clerk makes or where Walmart sources their merchandise has nothing to do with this thread. Nobody wants to read through all that crap.
Forum organization and house keeping. Please do your part. I don't care if you want to bash them or defend them. Pick the right forum to do it in.
walmart is the best driving job i've ever had

You could be right, got until July to even worry about it. I am already a doubles alternate for the pups to our White Plains store (so I'm already Walmart certified which would be a huge advantage of I did go to Marcy) which is an underground basement dock configuration, you have to break them apart at the Sams Club a few miles away and take one at a time. PA doesn't allow the double 48's. It pays really well, that's for sure, but with my rotating start days on the 6/3, I don't get to do it often, as the set run guy works Tue-Sat, and my start day has to land on either Sun or Mon.
Aside from all that, there's not much movement at Marcy, or Woodland which is even closer to home. I would be bottom of the pile for a long long time, whereas I already had 3 under me after a month and a half, 5 under me now, and 8 more in a couple months, soon to have 13 under me, with 30 more retirements within a couple years and more a couple years after that. So I might just stay put at Toby. I'm certainly not unhappy there, and there are very few DC's where you can climb the ladder so quickly. -
Yep. White Plains store... been there!! Always remember the large number of graybeards, places like Marcy, drivers will be moving up "fast". Woodland is decent and a couple years back, there was a few that left for oil jobs. Keep at it!

I would definitely love Woodland or Marcy, probably prefer Marcy for the area they run, but gotta wait for the 'graybeards' (LOL) to start making a lot of openings. For the next few years I think I'd be better off staying put. But in this life and especially in this industry, things change fast. Six months is not long and a lot can happen in that short time. So time will tell. I'm just glad I got in with 6.5 years and 500K miles. Most guys have twice that.

Yeah, that is a great way to look at it. Glad you made it in with that history. Must have been impressed!
