this deal wont work with buying a Schneider truck, this deal is only going to work doing a trade in, he is basically swapping one truck for another -
Learned a lot from this thread, I am a new o/o and was wondering what is the best truck (specs if possible) to have that will do well on fuel and have decent prices on repairs etc? Have a 07 Volvo 780 ISX 10 speed now with almost 800k on it...also what are the pros and cons with this year 780? Thanks
Lucar Thanks this. -
Lucar and RedForeman Thank this.

While looking at Truckpaper i found this:
http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=4902109
Looks like the dealer Lucar will make a deal with might be smiling.
Similiar unit to Lucar's,selling it 12 000$ more then he is offering Lucar.
But it is a assumption.
Has he asked the financecompagny?
They might be willing to make a deal as the listprice on that Schneider unit is higher.
I will shut up now...............hope Lucar keeps us updated.
And again,i wish from the bottom off my heart Lucar makes it.(but i doubt it)Last edited: Jan 19, 2014
Lucar Thanks this. -
Skateboard is right on the money, I'm getting the dealer pay on full what's owed on mine while getting one of theirs. Seems to me as if the dealer is just doing this as to keep the financing business going with ####### said company (I wont name them yet)
This is also a factor on getting a lower priced truck from what I'm pre-aproved, which will keep my payments low and allow me to build a fund for repairs rather quick.
The scheneider deal makes me wonder out of my dumb way of thinking (maybe) why a NADA priced truck at $35k is being sold for $20k ? Besides no warranty at all on it..
Remember I'm getting a full year on the engine from dealer (it really is an aftermarket company selling it)
That alone would boost price for $2k and apu would boost for another $2k.. given the price on the unit it comes up to $31.5k.. that's a good price to pay for this truck with this specs to me.. but maybe I'm out of resources and that's why I see it goodRedForeman, wore out and Cetane+ Thank this. -
I am very interested to see how this plays out. I was in a similar, but much less extreme circumstance than Lucar and have managed to turn things around by cutting my losses and making some tough decisions. Looks like Lucar is on a path to turn his situation around too. It isn't easy. In fact, it's real hard work every step of the way. The fact that he's persistent with this is testament to his likely success when it's behind him.
I agree the financing element to this deal adds a lot of risk. On the other hand, Lucar already has an established business. So not quite the same as a new guy with a stack of money saved up, yet still driving off the lot with a huge truck payment. -
I shoped around for a bit..
Rush truck center of sealy offered me $24k for the T660
MHC kenworth offered me $28k
Truck Nation is giving me $34.9.. -
Ahh, see, you are reading to much into things. The dealer can ask $1 million for it if they choose to, but that doesn't mean that they are going to sell it for that.
